Where Are My Chocolate Fudge Pop Tarts?

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I depend on the good people at Kellogg’s to supply me with a daily chocolate fudge Pop Tart for breakfast. Otherwise the old digestive tract gets off to a rough start.

My grocery store hasn’t had any for about a month. I’ve had to substitute Archer Farms (Target store brand) chocolate “breakfast pastries” but they ain’t the same and my gut is starting to complain in a most annoying fashion. Trying not to overreact, I checked online for any information about possible supply problems. I did notice a couple of online sellers (yes, apparently you can order Pop Tarts online) that are also out of chocolate fudge Pop Tarts.

For the love of God, does anyone have any information about supply problems or heaven forbid a discontinuation of Kellogg’s chocolate fudge Pop Tarts?

If you locate them, see if there’s a box of grape pop-tarts nearby. I haven’t seen a pack of those in almost a year.

chocolate fudge pop tarts suck. chocolate chip cookie dough is where its at.

There is a FAQ section of Kellogg’s website that specifically lists which Kellogg’s products have been discontinued. (Click on **Product Availability ** on the righthand side of the window.) Your Chocolate Fudge PopTarts should still be available: they are not on the discontinued list.

Interestingly enough, Little Nemo, that same URL will bring you to a search engine that can help you locate what Kellogg’s calls their “Hard to Find” items. Grape PopTarts are listed there. Select the product, plug in your ZIP code, click “Search” and it will help you find a retailer carrying what you are specifically looking for! You can also expand your search radius if the search comes up dry. Sadly, there are no stores within 220 miles of me that carry them.

I tried the search feature and it says there are no grape pop-tarts within 120 miles of me. Which I find a little unlikely; New York City is well within that radius. I have to feel that if grape pop-tarts on still on the market, they’d be on the shelfs somewhere in a city that size. Either they’ve stopped making them or the search feature isn’t complete.

Now if someone could help me locate my egg nog flavored Carnation Instant Breakfast …

Ditto lemon-scented Clorox. It’s NOWHERE to be found, in any type of store. I dashed off an e-mail to Clorox, just for the heck of it. A rep got back to me and claimed it is EVERYWHERE. But it’s not! It’s NOT!

I haven’t been able to find frosted cherry Pop Tarts for years. (And the Discontinued Products link gives me a server-not-found error, which seems strangely appropriate.)

A search for grape Pop Tarts in my area (west Boston suburbs) brings up quite a few hits, though.

I have a list of products which disappeared soon after I fell in love with them. I use it as evidence that the world is against me.
