Where are my sunglasses?

I hope they turn up! If not, maybe you can find another pair on EBay. :slightly_smiling_face:

Are you in my house?! :scream_cat:

No !
But i thought maybe you’ve been in mine !

Thank goodness! I was getting very anxious as I read this thread.

Even though you found them, I’m going to give you my suggestion for next time: look in the laundry basket.

I checked the link you posted. Are yours red, too? VERY chic!

They are! They actually look even better in person. The red bits have kind of a swirly pattern, so it’s a step up from plain red.

I’ll bookmark this thread so I can have a helpful guide next time I lose something. :slightly_smiling_face:

Cool sunglasses, and glad you found them! Now look in one more place, just to disprove the old canard that “They’re always in the last place you look.”

My regular glasses have red frames and they look great with my (now) white hair. But I might have to look for retro ones like yours… (This link says “pink,” but they’re red.)

It’s what they do.

That’s where my mother’s glasses usually were when she couldn’t find them.

Some people are different. I buy expensive sunglasses. I know where they are at all times. There are two spots for them, either on the hutch by the kitchen, or on my head. That’s it.

The good ones are important when you live at altitude and reflective snow.

I thought that was the law, and I cringed when I bought some Beausoleil’s that cost $300 over 30 years ago. Still have them!

^ And when you need good sunglasses every day, rain or shine, you know where they are.

Kinda funny, went to Pittsburgh to visit my Wifes family one time and I did, of course, have my sunglasses. Well Pittsburgh is often very overcast. One person thought I was just trying to look ‘cool’.

Nope, you don’t go anywhere at elevation without sunglasses. It’s a habit that I will happily keep anywhere I go. Sort of like never leave your house with out your wallet, even if you don’t think you will need it.

Yeah, and cheap sunglasses I’d buy before would fall apart at inopportune times. My eyes are sensitive to sun (not extremely), and it’s dangerous for me to drive in bright sun without sunglasses.

Pointless, if not tedious, digression:

Yeah, well, I wear my sunglasses at night. :notes:

And an ode to the sunglasses that started this whole thing:

I lost my favorite sunglasses a few years ago. They never turned up. I always put my stuff in their proper places when I’m done with them. Keys always get hung on the key hooks, sunglasses always go in the sunglasses bin, etc. What I think happened is that I had them in my hand along with trash I took out of the car. I’m guessing everything, including sunglasses went into the garbage can.

In my experience, lost sunglasses are either in the car or in your luggage/backpack, forgotten after getting back from vacation.

And … adding to the knowledge base …

  • My beloved Revo sunglasses were left behind at an Indian Restaurant in La Jolla, California. They were … uh … not recovered (at least by me)
  • My beloved Serengeti Drivers were lost in the El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico

These are – again – low probability locations, but if you’ve checked the freezer and the mailbox …

Remember when you ducked down and crawled under that tree when you were out backpacking. They fell out of your shirt then.

When you make that return back along the trail, make sure you don’t skirt that tree but crawl back under it again. That’s where they fell out.

Mine usually live in the holder built into the car, designed for just such use.

Except when I push them to the top of my head as I’m unloading the car, and realize they’re still there 3 hours later, and I’m too lazy to go downstairs and put them in the car. I genuinely forget they’re on.

Which was funny earlier this year. I’d gone for a dermatology check, and she asked me to take off my glasses. I looked blankly at her: since my cataract surgery, I don’t WEAR glasses. She said “your SUNGLASSES”. I’d forgotten them.
