I’m riding an Uber back to work after dropping off a work vehicle at the dealership.
Can’t decide what’s worse, that the driver wants to talk or that she reeks of smoke.
What are you up to?

I’m at work, at home. Whenever an email comes in with a relevant attachment, I have to enter its data into two separate badly-designed Access databases, rename the file attachments, file them in appropriate folders, file the email in the appropriate email folder, and enter the email subject line, date, and which month’s data they sent me in yet another database.
I’m fast and efficient enough to be able to have other windows open on other monitors and doing other things when the inbox isn’t going crazy.
I’m at work, where I just threatened to call the cops on a woman. She is apparently doing baby care for someone. She struggled with getting the car seat out of her car so her baby (under 6 months) had something to sit in. Once she got the carrier into my building, she got a phone call that she had to rush home for, but “just for a minute”.
She wanted to leave baby here, for my receptionist to watch. Receptionist freaked out just as I came along and heard what was going on. While they argued, I went out and took a picture of her car’s license plate.
I came back inside and told the woman she couldn’t leave her kid. We aren’t a daycare and I assume my insurance wouldn’t cover me if the baby suffered harm. She then said I was being foolish, it would be 5 minutes max, and she started walking out. I followed her out and told her I was calling 911.
I began calling and she rushed back. I watched her throw the car seat into the car without securing it and drive off.
Other than this, it has been a quiet day.
Posting from the ̶b̶a̶s̶e̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ command center in my home, recovering from walking the dog on the beach and in the woods. Drinking coffee (cold brewed at home) and planning to do some more online genealogical research today. I love retirement.
At work trying to think of a witty reply that won’t get me banned.
I got nothin’.
I’m at home, eating breakfast (bagel, yogurt and coffee) then taking our dog outside so she can pee. Lexi had surgery on her right front leg yesterday to remove a mass. I’m not sure if she is still having some effects from the surgery or is in pain. she is laying in her bed just looking around. She will be getting some pain medication with her breakfast this morning. And as the doc says, I love retirement too.
Working from home. I have a cold, which I am not happy about.
I’m at home trying to decide if I want to place an offer on a house I saw on Sunday. The location is fantastic but the house hasn’t been updated since the 1970s…
Ditto.
I’m sitting at my desk, finishing my breakfast and coffee. (Yes, it’s 1250 – So?) Working up enough energy to do my rainy-day exercise – six times up and down the stairs.
I’m moving Mom into an independent living home in the opposite corner of the country. Wife and I flew in, organized/triaged her possessions (it’s a tiny apartment), and just picked up the U-Haul.
From my bed.
I walked.(mean old Ivy forced me), ate, Messed with pets and grandwrex, and now waiting on more food.
Then back to my bed. I’m a lazy thing today.
I might sit in the chair later.
I too love retirement.
I’m at my computer, and trying to figure out who the person is in Botticelli.
Later I’ll fix dinner.
Home on my PC. Just got my grandson down to his nap, hoping he’ll sleep another 75 minutes or so till we have to go fetch his sister from preschool. This morning, I ran a load of laundry, then took the toddler with me to WalMart and Aldi. Fed him lunch, changed his clothes (tip - don’t let a toddler feed himself spaghetti unless he’s nekkid) then we played in the basement for a while. I didn’t think he’d ever fall asleep - he was in a mood.
Anyway, while he sleeps, I can surf in peace.
In my office at home, laptop and monitor set up on the antique desk we got from my father-in-law. Another window has my wife’s fifth section for our book, which I’m looking over. I got my seventh accepted.
In my friend’s basement, where the internet keeps popping in and out of service. She hasn’t got the best setup, but I am grateful that she does have access and shares it with me. Now, back to applying for jobs.
I’m at the oncologist’s with Mr. Legend, waiting for them to take his blood. They’re all so nice here, it’s not even annoying to wait!
I’m at work, and I always post from here since I’m sitting at my computer anyway for most of the day.
I’m working from home. Happily, most calls involve playing pre recorded messages. During that time, I surf the Dope.
On my phone, posting while watching classic Star Trek (The Menagerie Part 1). Yes, I’m retired, what makes you think that?
Chilling at home at my desk after an early half-day of work. Also slwoly reading through a 2-week backlog on a severe weather blog I subscribe to. But somehow y’alls posts are more interesting than theirs.
This morning I posted from a hotel room in another country. That oughta count for something.
