I want to input a 10 digit phone number and do a reverse lookup for the name and address from where that number is. And I want to do it for free. Where do I go?
Forgive the typo in the post. Typing fast and drinking wine.
Do a Google search for “Reverse Lookup” and you’ll get a lot of sites.
www.superpages.com allows reverse lookup of both business and personal numbers. It’s a decent place to start. Keep in mind that all the sites tend to deliver the same information.
Google also has its own lookup feature. Enter my phone number (as XXX-XXX-XXXX) into Googlr and you get both my and Mr S’s phone listings (we have different last names, so separate listings for the same address and phone number).
Works for listed residential. Not sure about business. It also works the other way – enter “firstname lastname city” and get the phone number (if it’s a unique listing).
There’s also Reverse Phone Directory, but it’s buggy and doesn’t always work. In my job, where I often have reason to match name and address to phone number, I always use pay sites because the information is fresher.
I always use www.anywho.com, but I’m not sure how recent their info is.
It’s free, too.
My best friend’s husband is cheating on her and she got a phone number quite by accident. I vaguely remembered seeing a post here on how to find a name with just the phone number. I had no luck till I tried Duke’s link and hit the jackpot with that one. I’ll tell you friends, I had no idea what someone can find out about you! You just might want to type your own number in and see what you get. If willing to pay, one could even get “satellite” information on someone. Now I can’t even imagine what that might be, but it doesn’t sound good.
But on the other hand, I have a friend who has a lot of rental property and I can really understand why a background check might be a good thing. I have seen his places trashed beyond belief–just imagine the last time critters ripped open your garbage bags and multiply that times 100…
I’m sure you have your answer already, but in the spirit of thoroughness: White Pages Phone Lookup from the RefDesk site.
Yup. Your first site seemed to be the one Duke sent me to. The second site just totally blew my mind and fried my brain…what the hell?
Opps! HELL I should be more careful. A second grader just got a one day school suspension for saying hell. Hear 'bout that?
OK, I will gather my wits about me and check out that second site.
Thanks.
Ha! I have a fairly high IQ, not that you’d know it from my posts.
So I take these on-ling IQ tests from time to time just to check it out.
Time flys like an arrow; fruit flys like a __________.
(Hope I got that right!) Good one!
