Verizon is my provider, but they don’t have anything on their website that is not “Get it Now” related.
Is there a place I can buy a ringtone for my Treo 650 without having to purchase a software package? I just want to browse some tunes and have one sent to the phone. Is that too much to ask?
And SDMB just had a brain fart or something. I could not access the site at all for a while, then when it came back I had nothing in my “subscribed threads” portion of mu User CP. The hamsters are stretched too thin maybe? I thought we were PAYING for this…
The Treo 600 and 650 are also capable of using any midi file as a ringtone; a couple of words of warning though:
-The instrument table implemented on the Treo is not the same as that on most PCs; this can result in the file sounding really odd when it is played; in some cases, this results in the melody being inaudible and drowned out by the rhythm/accompaniment.
-Many Midi files are unsuitable as ringtones because they have a rather quiet intro, and by the time they get to the loud part, the caller has given up.
Fortunately, both of these problems are fixable by editing the MIDI to extract a usable excerpt and substitute intruments where necessary; I use the free version of Anvil Studio to do this.
Frig man. This is a top of the line phone. At least it was until the 700w came out.
All I want is to buy a song to use as a ringtone. I appreciate your help so far, but I don’t want to extract or compress or de-midi-fy anything. Evey kid in the world with a $49 phone can have any ringtone they want.
Why can’t I just go to a website and download the theme from “Sanford and Son”? Or maybe"Achy Breaky Heart"?
