Where can I find a list of the HTML? And Quotingting

I feel like such an idoit. I don’t know HTML, so I don’t know how to Bold or Italisize of anything. Is there a list somewhere that will give me the info I need to become less of an idiot? Also, how do you quote? I know this is probably a stupid question, but I really don’t know and I figure I should ask now while I am still a newbie and have a excuse.

Hi Shera, welcome to the boards. The HTML/vB codes “cheat sheet” can be found here. As far as the quoting, at the bottom of every post is a small icon (at least on a pc) that reads “quote” (kind of in the middle of the post, last small icon there). You can cut and delete any or all of the post to only use the relevant parts. If you don’t want to use that, there is a section on quotes on the vB codes page linked.
Happy posting, and hope you don’t have too much of a life.

D’oh, um I’m gonna blame it on the beer…yeah that’s it…but you may want to check the very bottom of your screen and make sure it reads

"Posts:{some other stuff}<Here comes the important part> vB code is On. "

L’chiam and cheers.

Hello Shera. HTML is turned off for security reasons. All of the vB codes (including the ones not found on the code page) can be found here :

Louis, As an eager newbie, I found your thread when I first started posting and refer to it often. I don’t know how it came to pass that you blessed us with this “cheat sheet” but I would like to say Thank You.

Hi Shera:

You won’t find many stupid questions in this forum. (Well, my last one was,“What does the CLEAR button do?”. But aside from that, (And Jally’s diatribes) your question was a monument to good thinking newbie dopers everywhere. I never did say welcome to the board. Now I have.
Rick

 Why thank you Ruby. I’m glad it helped you out.
