Where can I find Pace’ Beef Tamale Pie?

Walmart has had this off of their shelf for about a year now where I’m at. I’ve been craving it ever since. I’ve went to other supermarkets, and they too, no longer carry it. It’s the best frozen food I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat, and now it seems nobody carries it anymore. :frowning:

Any dopers know if it can still be purchased, and if so where?

70 minutes to bake? It better be awesome!

Interestingly Pace has it’s own messageboard.

It might be discontinued. Pace website currently lists nothing but salsas and marinades.

It really was worth the wait. After about 50 minutes or so, the instructions said to remove the plastic on top for the last 20 minutes, and that helped to give the top a crunchy taste.

Thanks for digging up this info, I wasn’t even able to get this far. I wrote them an e-mail, and hoping they still carry it, but I’m afraid they no longer do. If so, I’m hoping they will give us the recipe, because I would like to have that at least once a week. I would rate it an A+.

I’m going to move this over to Cafe Society, I think you will get better responses over there.

For the Straight Dope

Of course the recipe they use for the frozen dish wouldn’t work in a home kitchen. There actually is a recipe for tamale pie on the Pace Foods website. (Campbell Soup owns Pace Foods, which is why the recipe features Campbell’s products.) There are other recipes at the Food Network website.
