Is there anywhere (free preferably 
) that I can store picture files online to link to in message boards? I think I tried a Microsoft online site but I didn’t seem to be able to link to the files.
Does your ISP give you any free web space? If so you can simply ftp your photos there and link to them.
I use Webshots (www.webshots.com) to store photos on-line for other people to look at but have never tried to link to them from somewhere else, so I don’t know if they allow that or not. I know a lot of the free webspace providers (like Geocities and Angelfire) don’t allow off-site linking.
Offhand the only other place I can think of is Photoisland (www.photoisland.com) but I have heard mixed reviews of them.
My favorite website to store pics is picturetrail.com. It’s $20 a year, but you can make really nice on-line photo albums. The best free one out there is probablt shutterfly.com. I don’t know about linking though.
I just set up a free website at www.freeserve.co.uk (‘build a website’ and use the ‘FTP My Site’ utility) - it gives you a few MB to store whatever you like.
