In SoCal, those are/were known as ‘potato wedges’. Up here, everyone calls them ‘jojos’. They are available just about everywhere.
‘Steak fries’, as I know them, are more like ‘2 by 6 lumber’ in proportion, and are usually just seasoned with salt.
