I accidently deleted the “go to desktop” icon from my quicklaunch bar. I don’t know where to find one to drag back to it. Thanks.
On my XP machine, it’s in C:\Documents and Settings<myusername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. Change <myusername> to whatever user account name you use. If you don’t have XP or can’t find it, use Find from the Start Menu to look for Show Destop.
Stick a K in there wherever you think it will work best. :smack:
Navigate to this folder and you should find the “show desktop” item and be able to drag a copy (hold the CTRL key as you drag and drop to make a copy) of it to wherever you desire.
C:\Documents and Settings{your login ID}\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Note that some of the folders in this path are hidden, so you may need to turn on “show hidden folders” - click Folder Options under the Tools menu in Explorer, click the View tab, then find and select “Show hidden files and folders” - it’s about the ninth item in the list.
It’s also easy to make a new one
It deletes the icon completely so I had to rebuild it per **Tim314[**post. Thanks all. Seems odd that they would let that happen.
