Where do I go to buy cheap comforters/sheets

I need to buy an extra bed set. Its been an ongoing project involving minimal effort on my part. The only place I checked recently was Bed bath and Beyond. While they seemed to have a good selection, I’m not looking to pay a few hundred bucks far a rarely used set. Any department stores or such that are good for this I should check out?

WalMart and Target are most likely to be price leaders in lieu of any other stores’ close-out or special sales prices on exactly what you want.

Shop on-line at Nextag.com and you might see some better deals if the shipping doesn’t ruin the savings.

Garage sales and thrift shops are the first place I’d look. Online, I’d try Craig’s List or eBay.

When my wife worked for a private school with lots of rich parents, we got a very high-quality and undamaged bed set at a school rummage sale for $25. My guess is that we’d have paid $400 or more for that retail. The last set we got came free through Craig’s List.

overstock.com - I’ve bought all my sheets there for the last several years. I tend to buy 800 thread count or higher which can be more expensive but still substantially cheaper than in the stores. They do have thread-count sheets of all variety so you can find a lower/cheaper selections.

I was doing a project last weekend that involved getting a bunch of sheets to hang up as a faux wall in my basement. I looked at Big Lots and they had a bunch of sheet sets and a good number of comforters. The sheet sets were $15 I believe.

I ended up buying my single flat sheets at Wal Mart, tho. They had the widest selection with the lowest low-end sheets. 200 thread counts for $3 (twin flat) to $13.50 (king flat). I didn’t happen to look at sets. But they had a ton to choose from. I would suspect Target would be similar.

I did not find any sheets on Craigslist or at Goodwill or on eBay. Nothing worth buying for my application. Seems people want to sell their sheets and curtains for what they paid.

I also really like the JC Penny Outlet stores if you have one in your area, for cheap linens. They also sell some stuff online.

Costco or Sam’s Club might have what you’re looking for.

Ditto. Overstock.com and Smart Bargains. You get the good stuff on the cheap. Like this, for instance: Bed Bath & Beyond | The Best Deals Online: Furniture, Bedding, Rugs, Kitchen Essentials & Moree

I’ve had good luck at TJ Maxx.

What size? I am about to eBay an unused set of nice Wamsutta white queen sheets- you want 'em? Pay for shipping and they’re yours- saves me the hassle of listing them

Twin unfortunately but thank you for the offer.

Looks like overstock.com is going to cover it.

Big Lots, Burlington Coat Factory, K-Mart, or a thrift store, if that’s acceptable to you. I’ve bought sheets there for an immigrant family who needed another bed set - washed them (the sheets, not the family!) in hot water and a little bleach… heck, I’ve slept on enough hotel sheets with no bad side effects. Oh, and also try Sears, and Marshalls. ( No one in their right mind should be paying BB&B big bucks for sheets. Sorry, BB&B, but you are going to follow in the footsteps of Linens n’ Things.)

Tritto on Overstock.com. We have a California King, and it can be a bit difficult finding bottom sheets that big.

The Company Store has a lot of sheets on clearance right now. I’m tempted to get some, but we really have all the sheets we need.

If you have a Tuesday Morning or Ollie’s near you, check there. We’ve had good success finding good sheet sets there at a very reasonable price.

Just two weeks ago, we found an Ollie’s that was going out of business (the whole chain is not, just this particular store), and all their bedding was an additional 30% off. Because of this, we got 620 thread count, 100% cotton sheets for $30.00, which is phenomenal. And yeah, Overstock has some good prices too.

You can get comforters sets etc at dollars stores for 40 bucks, i have no compliants with mine so far.

If you don’t mind a used one, you might want to check here.

If you can wait until the summer, that’s when the Back To School sales kick in, and you can find deals on “bed in a bag” sets aimed at kids off to college dorms.

Brylanehome.com

You can get a complete comforter set plus sheets for $29.99.
I’ve bought two quilts and a comforter there, and haven’t had any problems.

I like Brylane Home. Very pretty stuff.
