A colleague is moving to NYC for a job next month. As a leaving gift, our department would like to get her a gift certificate for drinks with her husband at a nice bar. Does anyone have recommendations for a good bar in NYC that does online gift certificates? Her last day is Thursday.
I was just at 675 Bar last week and they offer gift cards. It’s a fun place, but not the most awesome cocktails I’ve ever had. Very hip area of town though!
The vast majority of the really cool cocktail places (a la Death & Company) are small operations and not part of a large chain (like 675 Bar is) so probably won’t offer gift cards, I’d think. Maybe someone will come along with a better option for you.
I was going to suggest Eataly; their rooftop beergarden garden is really popular yet classy. However, on their website it says they only sell the gift cards in the store. Maybe you could call and buy one over the phone? Number here.
If that’s a bit too much trouble you can get a gift card to the posh, delectable 11 Madison – or a GC good at any of the restaurant group’s several highly acclaimed restaurants.
Ah, those Union Square ones look great, Hello Again, thanks! I like that you can buy one that covers each (presumably good) venue. I’ve got her a $30 one which should cover two cocktails.
