She left a couple months ago from her spot on Sunday Morning version of Weekend Edition. I listened to the last edition that she hosted and her goodbye seemed very absolute.
And for the first month or so her replacement never mentioned Hansen, but recently, with the second replacement of Hansen at the mike, the phrase, “Liane Hansen is on sabbatical,” has been popping up.
Hansen really had that program nailed. She was like an aunt whose house you were visiting; one who knew everything that was going on in town and would jostle and joke you into getting moving Sunday morning.
Does anyone know what is going on and if she indeed is coming back. I have gone to the NPR website, but got little information.
