Several times this season while watching/listening to NFL analysis, someone would start doing this “Playoffs? Playoffs?” quote. Apparently, it’s well-known, as I even saw it used today on during the playoffs coverage and the NFL uses it while loading their NFL Bandwagon flash game. I get the feeling this is something I should know, but I swear I have no idea who it is or where it comes from.
It’s a quote from former Colts head coach, Jim Mora who said it during an infamous post-game rant. Here’s the youtube clip.
Thanks. It’s not as good as Denny Green’s meltdown this season, though.
I see what happened. I was watching plenty of football in 2001, but with my first semester of college and everything, remembering (or seeing) post-game press conferences wasn’t my first priority. Besides, I was in Steelers country.
Now that was freaky. I hadn’t heard of this at all so I played the youtube clip. Literally the second it ended, a Coors commercial came on where they showed the same clip. My computer went “playoffs? playoffs?” and then I immediately heard the same thing from my TV.
I hate Coors commercials generally, but this one was a masterpiece. I laughed my ass off!
On a related note, Iverson saying “Practice? We’re talking about practice!”
