I’ve had a relative mail two packages via priority mail and I had them fill out a delivery confirmation form and they claim at the counter the employee told them “no you don’t need that anymore, the tracking number is included” so they weren’t able to attach the slip and pay the fee.
But now on the receipt they received there is no visible delivery confirmation number?
The number will appear on the white receipt near the top: a 20 digit number near the word “label”. The actual label that goes on the package is printed by the window clerk’s PVI machine and attached to the package. So save your receipt if you want to track it or have questions later on.
“USPS tracking”, as it is now known, is free on priority and standard but costs extra on first class and media.
