Never mind what’s in it, where do you put your wallet when you go out?
Back pants pocket (left side). Pocket has no button/zipper/etc, so “open” I guess.
Minor disclaimer: this poll is for fun, this is just for simple interest to see what people do with their wallets when they walk out. Me, I never put it in my back pants pocket (cause I like sitting down normally, thank you), its in my coat or my cargo pants or anywhere secure (I’m a transit commuter).
Left front pants pocket. Along with the cell phone and handkerchief.
I carried it in my left rear pocket for years and years. Moving it to the front has made sitting much more comfortable.
I’m right handed, so right rear pocket for the last 45 years.
Other. It goes in my man-bag.

In my purse, unless I’m just carrying it and nothing else, when it’s always in my hand.
I have as few things as possible in mine. Debit card, credit card, bar card, insurance card. I keep it in my front pocket or shirt pocket. Never liked it in my rear pocket because it never made sense to keep it in the most vulnerable location.
Back right pocket. It is either in my hand, or in my back right pocket.
Pretty much this. If it’s jacket weather I keep it in an inside jacket pocket. In the summer I have a bag I take to work and I toss keys, wallet, and phone into that. If I’m not at work I put it in a cargo shorts pocket and lacking one of those it goes in back pocket. Or I might just grab whatever card/ID/cash I need and use a front pocket. Back pocket is absolutely my last choice because I hate sitting on my wallet.

Kept it in my back left pocket for my entire life until I had sciatic nerve issues in my left hip this summer. Then it got transferred to the front left pocket.
Which is where I previously kept it whenever I was going to be in a crowd.
“Other” because it really depends on where I am/what I’m doing.
As I’m typing this? It’s under my phone on my desk. When I’m at home? It’s on a shelf by the door. During theme park trips? It’s in the theme park bag. When I’m at a movie? In the cupholder on my seat.
It’s rarely in my pocket because I hate things in my pockets, but It’s never really in “just one place”

Left hip pocket. I’m right-handed.
At work it goes in a desk drawer, I take it out in the car as well. Sitting on it was contributing (or hell, maybe the sole cause) of my sciatica.
Front left pocket open; usually my gun is in the right front pocket and my snuff in the back right. Keys back left. Which now tells you way more than you need to know about my personal habits.
