Where's Inkleberry and DrLoveGun?

I haven’t seen you and DrLoveGun out here in weeks, Inkleberry. I miss your posts!

Is everything ok? How’s little Tink? What happened with your crazy neighbor? How goes the job search?

[sub] Hm, should I have put this in General Questions? I have no idea … [/sub]

Hey! I’ve missed seeing them around here, too. I’ve only met about a dozen Dopers IRL, and Inkleberry and Tink are two of them.

Last we heard on the boards, they were moving across the Bay – escaping from the Hayward hellhole to the Peninsula. Ink was starting a new job, her return to work after Tink being born. I think the move was far enough that DLG was looking for a new job, too.

I hope they’re just busy with all these changes and that once things settle down we’ll hear more from them.

I’ve been worried about them ever since that ancient Pit thread where many thought they might be living next door to a meth lab.

I don’t know if that ended up being the case or not, but I still worried about them. I hope they’re just busy with the move. Moving and job hunting is probably taking up their time, and maybe they decided on no internet for a while, until they get more established in this new place?

Either way, I’m just dropping in to wish them all well.

Ever since Inkleberry budded, he has been here less.

I know them (well, her, mainly) IRL, and emailed her a week ago or so to say hi and see what was up, and haven’t heard back. Hopefully they’re all fine, and just temporarily without internet access. Or perhaps (gasp) they have found cooler people to hang out with than us

Inkleberry last visited on Labor Day, although she hasn’t posted in a month. Her user profile is here.

BTW, I am a WOMAN. Not a guy. FYI. Some appear to be confused.

Anyway…

DLG, Tink, and I have moved across the bay and into a quiet 3 bedroom townhouse. The worst thing that happens here is that there are tennis courts up the hill and sometimes errant balls roll onto our patio. We cannot complain. Tink likes tennis balls. I myself find them quieter than meth-heads.

Speaking of meth users, I am now working full-time as a case manager and alcohol/drug counselor for an inpatient facility. It’s…stressful. Especially combined with taking care of Tink on my own during days off (DLG has different off days most of the time).

Tink goes to day care. He likes it. Except he bit another kid the other day. Sometimes kisses turn into bites. We were pretty mortified. Tink has been doing well health-wise, except for getting the croup, which he kindly passed to me. We sounded like seals for a week.

DLG works as a restaurant manager for a new restaurant- they recruited him from his old place and pay him $9k more a year. Also, the hours suck less. Oh, and people have actually heard of this place.

We are busy, and I am exhausted. Send robot.

Apparently, we live in the LAST house on the DSL line. Which means our access for the past month has been slow as shit and about as reliable as a dementia patient.

Today we got cable net access. Works good.

We still need a robot.

We’re here, just finally getting acclimated to no drugged out fights, smells of cat urine, and having hot water again. This is what life is all about right?

YAY! We don’t have to worry about you guys getting blown up in your sleep any more!

My husband’s sister, husband, and two small children live in a bad neighbourhood in our town. We would dearly love for them to get the hell out of there, but they’re trying to buy a house, and it seems to be going very, very slowly for them. Their oldest just started kindergarten in the bad 'hood - I was hoping they’d get out before then.

Good to see you again! Glad to hear of the move.

I’d lend you my robot, but I don’t have one either…

And all lil kids (mostly) bite at least once. It can be a sign of frustration–lacking the words to express the feelings. Or it can be “love gone wrong”. No worries!

Wow. HUGE changes: new jobs, new house, Tink in daycare. That would stress anyone out. It will settle in a month or two. I’m glad to hear you’re all doing well. Keep us posted when you have time. You tell the greatest stories.
