Which cartoon series do you love most from your childhood?

Robotech!!! Especially The Macross Saga. I was about 8 or 9 when this came out, and I remember thinking “Finally! A cartoon series that doesn’t lie about death!”.

I got the Macross Saga on DVD for Christmas last year. Yay!

The New Adventures of Flash Gordon

Wake me up when they rerun Time for Beanie and Captain Video.

Garfield! Used to get up every morning for that. If anybody knows where I can download episodes, I’d be grateful.

Oh yeah, Johnny Quest was so cool.

George of the Jungle and Roger Ramjet were faves also. Looney Tunes, of course. And Roadrunner.

I also really loved The Beatles cartoon.

The Real Ghostbusters - this one actually came out when I was in high school, but I still watched it. It was very smart and funny, with good occult references - until they kiddified it and turned it into “Slimer & Friends”.

Also, I’d like to see the lions Voltron again.

Looney Tunes
Speed Racer
The Wacky Races

Tiny Toon Adventures

I’d love to see the episode with the Immature Radioactive Samurai Slugs again, just for the Slugmobile.

Animaniacs! was good too.

I loved all the space/Apocolyptic cartoons of the 80s. Voltron (but just the one with the lions, that other Voltron sucked), Thundar, He-Man (they were basically the same thing, only Thundar’s partner looked like Chewbacka), Robotics, Jace and the Wheeled Warriors, and my overall favorite…

Robotech. God, I loved that fucking show!

Since others have mentioned Looney Tunes, I’ll just whisper [sub]Merry Melodies[/sub]

and Animaniacs and Tiny Toons, the only true descendants of the originals.

Obviously Loony Tunes, as well as
Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse - the greatest opening theme ever (Peter Gunn)

I love Animaniacs. I would buy that on DVD if they ever put it out. Same with Batman: The Animated Series. I have the one DVD that has been put out and I keep hoping for more.

Well, I’ll give that lyric a try, but there are some funky parts I never felt real confident about. I’ll bold those:

Doc Bruce Banner,
Belted by gamma rays,
Turns into the Hulk
(Ain’t he un-glameraze?)
Wreckin’ the town with
the power of the Hulk
Who’s that monster clown?
Who is that lovable
The ever-lovin’ Hulk!

[sub]They also did Thor, Iron Man, Spiderman, and Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, IIRC[/sub]

What’s the matter, didn’t you care for Gigantor, Marine Boy, and The Amazing 008 Man?

Sounds like you need to get the Boomerang channel from Cartoon Network. What you just described is pretty much their daily line-up. The bits they show on the real CN make me wish I had a sattelite dish and could get the channel, until I watch the Superfriends again and realize that it really wasn’t all that good. (Except for Solomon Grundy, of course, who was and remains a total bad-ass.)

Speaking of the cheap-o Marvel cartoons, my favorite theme was Iron Man:
Tony Stark makes you feel
He’s a cool exec with a heart of steel,
But Iron-Man, he’s jets ablaze!
He fights and he fights with repulsor rays!
Amazing power! That’s Iron Man!
A-blazing power! That’s Iron Man!

Ducktales, Super Mario Bros. Super Show, Garfield.

Didn’t like many others. I seem to remember liking a cartoon called: Spaghetti and Meatballs.

I always loved that show as a kid. Particulary the title song.

Did they ever find the cities of gold?

And where could I find some of those?

Thank you for answering something I’ve been wondering about for years.

I remembered something from my childhood, a show invovling 5 lions that turned into a robot.

Everyone I would ask, people would tell me “Power Rangers” but I knew it was long before that.

Now I know.

I liked Dogtanian and the three Muskehounds; Dangermouse and Garfield. And Looney Tunes, of course.

HAHAHAHA, HPL likes the Power Ranges!!
