Which CD in your collection are you most embaressed by?

I have very few pop music CDs, but I bought Pieces of You because I liked the first couple of singles from it. Hated the rest of the songs, though. Same thing happened with Evanescence.

Not that these really embarrass me, though. My family, friends and co-workers are all fully acquainted with the fact that I have “eccentric” musical tastes.

Ahhh, that would be the soundtrack to the second movie, Secret of the Ooze. Oddly enough, the first movie soundtrack was actualyl quite good. And the movie itself was probably better than it had any right to be.

Del Rubio Triplets Anthology. I have no excuse.

Personally, I think the fact that you spelled it wrong kind of redeems you, because it means you are sort of unfamiliar with it.

I have quite a few. The thing is, I didn’t start developing any taste in music until I was fourteen, and in the four years since then has changed greatly to what it is now. So I have cds by:
Staind- I have their two most recent. Actually, I still have a bit of respect for them. I like how the lyrics are socially conscious

Linkin Park- Hybrid Theory. I don’t listen to it anymore, but I don’t think they’re quite as bad as everyone says they are.

3 Doors Down- I loved their first album. I still think it has some catchy songs, but the lyrics are terrible

Nickelback- Silver Side Up

Creed- Human Clay and Weathered. Yikes. HC does have some kind of cool surreal lyrics, and if I listened to Weathered now I’d probably still like some of the songs more than I’d want to admit. And, while the cover art for Weathered is bad, the liner photos are really cool.

I’m not really embarrassed by them, but I tried getting into metal and have some metal cds. I don’t like them anymore.
Ultrafilter, I know you like metal a lot and don’t mind christian metal if the music is good (yes, I listened to christian metal). If you’d like, I could possibly send some of my old metal cds to you. Some of them are pretty good.
I refuse to be embarrassed that I own every Toad the Wet Sprocket cd, even though they’re considered uncool. Everyone who thinks they are is WRONG!!!

Hey, “Fall Down” was a great single!

A Celine Dion CD.

It was a birthday present.

It’s all about “Walk on the Ocean.”

[bOmniscient**, I think #2 is more embarrassing. Owning Shaq Diesel is funny. My roommate, who is from Orlando, also has it and we laugh about it pretty often. “Do you want me to shoot it? NO! Do you want me to pass it? NO! Do you want me to slam! SLAM!”

I saw that tour, as well. Columbus, Ohio.

Check your mail. I put SDMB in the subject line.

Well, I was embarassed by this one. But now I think I put it in the safe. :dubious:

Okay, you win.

I have a CD by this chick band called Pee Shy. They play clarinets.

One track is about lust for the kid she’s babysitting. Perverted chicks are cool.

My guilty shameful possessions:

the Greatest Hits of Mama Cass Eliot

the Greatest Hits of Petula Clark

the soundtrack to “the Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” (including that much-reviled-Dopers 70s hit “Never Been to Me”)

I started seeing this girl last week. When I first brought her over to my place, the first thing she wanted to see was my CD collection, since I had told her that most of the music I listen to is underground and she wouldn’t have heard of it. As she scanned it, she seemed really impressed.

“Wow, most of these I’ve never heard of, and the ones I have heard of I really like. But is there one album in here that you think would make me lose all respect for you?”

Without hesitation, I pulled out this one. Maybe it doesn’t count since I’m not embarrassed by it.

Well, maybe just a little.

12 Inces of SNOW.

I have “A Wyndham Hill Retrospective with John Tesh” that I’ve never even listened to. I do like that kind of New-Agey white noise music. I’m not sure if this is what that is, though.

I also have NSync’s self-titled CD because I like “I Want You Back.”

My brother asked me to get him William Shatner’s “Has Been” for his birthday. He says it’s great stuff and was happy to get it.

In a related vein, I’ll confess to owning the Namco Classic Collection Techno Maniax CD. I usually like gaming CDs, and have heard some creatively fun techno remixes of Namco music before, so I thought this was going to be a disc full of goodness. Needless to say, the tracks on this disc have as much creativity as a five-year-old banging the “repeat” key on a Casio synthesizer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wanna swap?

There are a couple of CD’s in our collection that I will not claim:

Paula Abdul
Jewel
Michael Boulton
Stuff that maybe I should be ashamed of, but am not
Chumbawamba
Aldo Nova
Adam Ant
a good sampling of hair metal bands (Cinderella, Poison, Bon Jovi. etc)

Great. “Informer” running on a continuous loop in my head for the rest of the day. What makes it torturous is that the only lyrics I know are “Informer” and “licky boom boom bow.” Or whatever the hell he said.

Dammit.
