I have lived and worked in both - from Kuwait to Kazakhstan - and voted “Always” cold. I can always put on another layer in cold weather but in hot climates, I can only shed a few layers before the cops show up.
It’s not a pretty sight…

That’s a tough one. At home I’d take cold over hot because it’s easier to keep warm than to cool off. But the outdoors is much more enjoyable in hot weather even if you have to avoid the hours when the sun is high in the sky.
But I’ll have to go with cold because I have a terrible time getting a good night’s sleep when it’s hot and I sleep like a baby when it’s cold.
I’d rather have consistent 100 degree days than consistent 20 degree days. Bring on the heat!
Cold. Cold. Coldcoldcoldcoldcold. Did I mention cold? Air conditioning is BY FAR the most significant invention ever. I believe about 75 is as high as I would ever want to go. Don’t get me started on humidity. I also like dim better than bright, so I guess I’m pretty yin overall. I really should move to Scandinavia.
From a personal comfort standpoint (which I gather is the point of the OP) I’ll take the cold, but not being able to grow a vegetable garden would kill me.
Just above 90?? That’s not even that hot. Hell, I’ll definitely take that, especially if we have AC and it’s paid for.
I spent the first half of my life trying to get out of cold places. I’ve spent the second half declaring victory 'cause I live in Florida.
The temperature per se is not that important but I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (or at least I am noticeably happier when the sun is out) and it’s nearly always clear and sunny here.
Hot, by far. I spent a couple of years in a place where it was above 90 most of the time (and not an AC in sight) and it was the best two years of my life.
Cold air physically hurts. Who wants to be somewhere where the AIR hurts you?
In terms just of my bodily comfort I’d pick cold. Just below freezing (~30F) is practically shirt-sleeve weather in Minnesota. I would miss a lot of things associated with warmer weather though; if it NEVER got above freezing you’d be living in a tundra-like landscape.
Ugh, I hate extremes in either direction, so this is really not a choice I’d like to have to make. I guess I’d prefer the heat, but man I’d get sick of it.
32°C? That’s just a pleasant day, I’ll take that, please.
“Just below freezing” is not going to lead to deep snowdrifts, is it? That’s the only reason I might opt for cold. Otherwise, I’d prefer permanent beach weather.
Well, it could. But generally not. Just below freezing is basically a Scottish winter.
Hot - all day, every day. 45C is pleasant for me.
I live on the coast in so Cal, never cold and rarely ever hot. I would hate to live anywhere else.
Just below freezing is not that cold. I’ll take it and glory in the fact that I would never feel too hot. Man I hate that feeling.
I hate temps over 80, but year-round cold would be absolutely miserable.
Cold places are for visiting, hot places are for living!
This is hard, but I hate piled up snow more than either hot or cold, and I could not live with no plants around all the time. I’d have to take hot.
Having said that, I’d say that just over 90 is a lot less common around here than just below freezing. Having a summer day with a low temperature above 90 is quite rare. Having a winter day with a high temperature below freezing is pretty common. So, at least for me, you’ve biased the choices to the hot being more unusual, but I still picked it.
