Which do you like better out of a Big Mac or Whopper?

The sauce on the Big Mac makes it too sweet. The Whopper is much better IMO. If i do get McDs, it’s a quarter pounder or the dollar cheeseburger.

Big Mac, no pickle, no sauce. Yum.

And I second the vote for the Whopper Junior (no pickle). The Whopper is too big and too…mushy.

Do you guys have the Triple Whopper? We have that in Thailand, and that really is big and sloppy. You can’t eat it with your hands.

Yes we have them, but I can’t imagine eating that much now… when I was a teen though I probably would have ordered two for lunch. The regular Whopper is sloppy enough.

I was recently on a long road trip with the family and I stopped for gas at a place that also had a Burger King. I tried to think of something that would be easy to eat while driving so asked my son to run in and buy two cheeseburgers (just the nice little basic ones). He came back out and said they don’t sell cheeseburgers so he got me two Whoppers. It was a nice gesture, but trying to eat a Whopper in one hand while steering with the other and trying not to make my shirt look like an abstract painting was just a little too much. One and a half got tossed when we reached our destination.

And either my son was wrong, or we stopped at the only BK that doesn’t sell regular cheeseburgers.

I really like Whoppers, although I haven’t had one in a long time. Not a healthy meal! But I’ve always hated Big Macs. I got a free one several months ago, and it was a wet, sloppy mess. Blech. If I’m getting a McD’s burger it will be a Quarter Pounder. But I prefer a Whopper over either.

It’s not just that one. Ours doesn’t sell simple burgers either. Neither does Jack In the Box. I used to love their cheap, regular burgers, but now they aren’t even on the dollar menu anymore.

Whopper has better toppings by far. Lettuce leaves, tomato, onion slices, mayo, ketchup.

Big Mac has finely chopped lettuce, diced onions, and extra piece of bun, and special sauce. (the sauce is OK, but I prefer mayo and ketchup)

Even without considering the meat flavor, you gotta give it to the Whopper. Personally I prefer the flame-broiled taste, but I can see how people would prefer McD’s.

Right, I hate mayo on burgers but love 1000 island. But I do prefer the Big King to the Big Mac. I haven;t had either in a year+.

Actually, the In&Out burger whips both of them so badly it’s not even funny.

Whopper.

I’ll take a larger diameter over an extra patty any day.

I also like that they seem to cram actual lettuce leaves into it, vs the shredded lettuce McD uses. And their pickles seem to have more substance, too, as well as the onion.

Great, now I want one…

I grew up near a BK, so my 1st “grown up” burger was a cheese Whopper. I also like tomatoes on my burger.

A whopper is a lot more like actual food. You can even identify the tomatoes. Regardless, I’m addicted to Big Macs. I attribute it to subliminal advertising: they’ve programmed me.

Damn, I haven’t had one in months. Oh crap. Thanks.

I got yer whopper right here.

It’s kind of funny that someone with PickleSniffer in their name would post in a thread about burgers.

Whopper all the way.

Well, that goes without saying. In-an-Out is a real burger. McDonald’s is its own simulacrum of a burger and, well, I already mentioned my feelings on BK. I really don’t understand how people can complain about McD’s tasting fake when BK’s burger tastes like it came fresh from the food lab to me. It’s the fakest tasting of the Big 3.

I don’t mind the sauce, but the people at the McD’s in WDM used it far to liberally, so I always ordered “a Big Mac, no sauce.” That was back around '77, when a certain young lady was working at that particular McD’s - I hardly ever go to either McD’s or BK nowadays.

And a Hardee’s Frisco Burger was far, far better than either.

I never liked the Big Mac when I was young. Too pickley tasting. I gave it another try as an adult, maybe 15 or 20 years ago, and still didn’t like it. Probably won’t ever try it again. I get a Quarter Pounder generally if I go to McDonald’s for dinner. Which I rarely do any more.

Whoppers, I like when I’m eating them, but I don’t like the way the “flame broiled” flavoring sticks around in my mouth, so I don’t usually get them. Actually, I pretty much never go to Burger King either, even less often than McDonald’s.

I chose Big Mac by default. My reasoning works like this:

When I crave a Big Mac, only a Big Mac will suffice.

When I crave a burger it could be a Whopper or a Quarter Pounder, either one will work. I’ve never HAD to have a Whopper and I’ve never HAD to have a Quarter Pounder.

A Big Mac though…

To each their own.

Sums it up. I can’t remember the last time I ate a big mac, I’ve never liked them. Much rather ask for a double quarter pounder with lettuce and tomato at McDonalds than a Big Mac.

Whopper all the way in the battle of the plastic burgers.

Whopper

Two words - “flame-broiled”
