Mask, shoes, coat. I don’t think I’ve ever entered the house with the mask on, but I’ll list it first. It’s off by the time I get into the car or, if I’m walking, as soon as I see I’m not going to run into anyone on the way to the door. Typically, this actually means I rarely wear the mask outdoors.
Shoes come off if I enter through the back as to not dirty the floor. If through the front, it’s a toss up as to which comes off first, but I suspect shoes leads there.
Fold a surgical mask in half with the inside out. Tie each elastic band in a knot next right next to the mask. Turn the mask right side out and kinda fiddle with the sides to keep them inside. This will make the mask fit tighter and if done right, totally stops any fogging issues.
It never gets cold enough here to wear a really heavy coat, but the mask comes off in the car (and goes into a pocket) and since the coat closet is closer to the door than the place we keep our masks, the coat goes off first before the mask gets put away.
I don’t take off shoes in the house.
My wife makes these cool masks that tie behind the head , and so as soon as I get into the car, I slip my mask down. Then, when I get home, coat off, then mask off.
The mask comes off in the car. I have never worn a mask into the house. Note that I do live in a rural area so I would not be close to my neighbors while getting out of the car and walking inside.
I don’t wear a heavy coat, even in winter. I’m not sure that I still even own a winter coat. It’s been decades since I’ve worn one, and if I have one it’s buried in a closet somewhere. If it’s cold I wear a sweat jacket with a hoodie, plus jersey work gloves if it’s really cold (20s or below). The temperature was in the mid 30s here yesterday and I went out without a jacket or gloves, but the wind was fairly calm. If it’s snowing I’ll wear the hoodie just because snow on a bald head is really uncomfortable.
If I’m wearing a jacket, that comes off first. Shoes come off last.
“Heavy coats” aren’t a thing around here and masks weren’t a thing when I lived in heavy coat country. But …
I wear my mask until indoors since I’m walking from my car through the public part of my condo complex to get to my indoors. Mask comes off immediately, followed by washing hands.
Then any outerwear comes off. At worst around here that’s a sweatshirt or a windbreaker. Shoes come off when it’s time for bed or some other reason to completely change clothes. Back when I lived in a carpeted house I’d remove shoes at the door. Now with tile everywhere not so much.
