TF myself, for the last year or so. Managed to get a good username (or at least, I was suprised that it hadn’t been taken: “Rusty Shackleford.”

Stats: so far, 67 greenlight threads (out of maybe 400!).

My favourite headline that didn’t get greenlit: one for a story about a German TV network starting satellite service to the US. My headline was:

German satellite TV coming to US. Lineup includes: “Everybody Loves Hitler,” “Aryan Idol” and "Survivor: Stalingrad."

How about it? Any other TFer’s out there?

I am a Farker, I ought to subscribe to TotalFark.

I’m amazed at how many greenlit threads you have! :eek: NONE of the threads I submitted were greenlit, and I followed the rules and everything, not to mention digging up articles farkers would like (such as the woman who sold enough surplus breastmilk from her boobies to buy a CAR :eek: ) but no dice :frowning:

Y’know it’s funny…most of what I think is my “A” cannot-miss material gets ignored, and some lesser, also-ran stuff gets the greenlight. Seems almost random, at times.

Guess it’s really at the personal whim, taste, and interests of whatever moderator is owrking “that shift.”

I’ve been a Farker for ages, but I rarely post, and usually only read, and vote in PS contests.

I really should go TF to get the full Fark experience.

So far my favorite thread was the UFIA Centre. I missed the origin of UFIA, so when someone asked about it, and everyone came in with different answers, I ended laughing my ass off while looking for the actual meaning.

Still one of my favorite sayings, along with the Homer Simpson graphic someone posted along with it.

That’s such a Fark headline, though! What headline got greenlit for the story if that one didn’t?

None, pizzabrat. No-one else picked up on the story.

That’s the remarkable thing about the TF submission page; for every 1 story greenlit, there are 90 that don’t make it.

(And then, some stories get submitted 100 or more times in the space of a few hours, like Terry Shavio’s death)

I’m a TF’er too. Man I really like that site. I guess I joined TF in 2002. I also subscribe to SA and obviously this site. All 3 are awesome.

I’ve been a normal member for about half a year, but I’m not sure why. I’ve never posted or submitted a link or even voted in photoshopping contests.

OK…whats Fark and TotalFark, are they anything like the Straightdope forums? ie: worth reading?

I am, but I can barely remember my username, whether or not my password. I think I’ve posted one comment in the two years of having an account.

For those who don’t know - Fark is a website that basically runs links to news stories with headlines from submitters and allows for comments on each story. However, they are pretty uncouth there, and definitely not worksafe a good part of the time (Boobies links run amuck daily, and once in a while we are gifted with a Weiners link), but there are some great comments. And there are also Photoshop contests and such - just don’t expect political correctness.

I’m a farker. Recently a TF’er, just about the time the darn computer problems started.

I have only three greenlights (two in one week!), one of my most recent (I’m so proud) was “What’s going on behind the scenes in The Conclave Photoshop contest.”

And I have no clue how to photoshop…

I registered for Fark, but I can’t remember quite why. Frequently, I find the “atmosphere” there to be male-oriented, and childish. But the lure of the links means I visit it pretty much daily.

I’ve heard there are tons of better links that you don’t see on the regular Fark.com page. Kinda stumps me which ones get greenlights.

My favourite thread was the “show us your puppy” one. I’m a sucker for dogs.
