Which Gift Would You Choose?

I’ve been wanting both a barbque and a bike, so I guess I’d flip a coin.

The Aerogrow … I have wanted one for about a year…

Hmmm… wine cabinet or telescope… wine cabinet or telescope…

Heh, you could choose that vile little Lladro porcelain thingy, if only so that they would worry about your mental state and be very nice to you for a while.

I’d choose the bike. Just a bid sad that’s the thing you don’t need.

Definitely the Aerogrow.

I would so go the telescope!

Digital camera, digital camcorder, or knife set. We’re still using the knives we got as a wedding gift seven years ago. We keep replacing the chef’s knife because we use it so much, but we’re too cheap to buy a good one.

Probably the pots and pans; mine are cheap. The flatware and knives are nice, but I’ve got silver and german knives, and a telescope.

I really want the Waterford, but I’d be terrified of breaking it; I’ll stick to cheap crystal.

I would go for the blue topaz earrings. Or maybe the luggage. The frivolous at war with the practical.

I think I’d go for the Tourneau watch. I need a new watch, and that one looks sharp. Honorable mention to the gas grill and the bike, as I’ve been thinking of getting both items lately.

Ain’t no such thing as too many knives.

I’d either get the knife set or the GPS.

My choice, but I lerve kitchen stuff.

The novelty wears off soon.

I’d pick something that will last. No appliances. Maybe one of the watches or the cookware. Good cookware lasts practically forever.

Whatever’s most expensive, and then sell it on e-bay.

Unless of course… you’re not a poor broke graduate student with loans to pay =(

Then I’d prolly take the Video Camera or the Aero-grow.
Though that griddler IS tempting… but i’m a also hungry poor student :frowning:

Either the air conditioner, the GPS or the wine cooler. All three would be very much appreciated!

At the company I worked at last summer, they only give pins for recognition of years of service until you get invited to the annual thank-you party… after 25 years of working there! I don’t think the company has really kept up with the changing mentality of the workforce - people don’t stay in one place for 25 years anymore!

As much love as the telescope is getting, I could never use one. It’s never gonna be dark enough to see anything in the sky where I live (NYC).

The bicycle’s a good idea but I’m not a fan of Ross bikes. I used to have one when I was a kid, I was constantly having to tighten and re-assemble the handlebars and re-attaching the chain.

I like that gold/onyx Men’s ring. Then again I’ve already got a very similar one, a round top one in 14K gold.

I like the 8-piece Calphalon non-stick cookware. The griddler might be nice but I’ve already got a built-in griddle on my stove range, a gas one too (an electric griddle, much like a toaster oven, is a high-wattage power pig). I’ve got plenty of flatware from my wedding china set, and while the knife set is intriguing I’ve already got not one, but two knife blocks in my house and don’t need a third.

But ah, that beverage cooler is just what I’d take! Like a mini wine cellar you can keep almost anywhere.

I’d go for the keyboard. Looks sweet.

The camcorder doesn’t give enough information to say reliably what it’s good for (the 5MP is probably a stills spec, not the video capture) but I’m disinclined towards it. However, if you call and ask and it turns out to be the DVR565HD model, GO FOR IT!

And then give it to meeeeee!

(On a peripheral note, either it’s a JVC X Vivitar, or it’s old. Vivitar was appropriated back in '06 and most of their stuff is sold under new labels now. They don’t even have a seperate homepage any more. If you want the camcorder, I’d suggest calling up and ask about the model and guarantee that they’re offering.)

Missed my edit window.

“ETA: On a closer look, it looks like it has a HDMI-out port as well as a 1:3.2/(f=7.00mm) lens. Not bad.”
