As the title says, I can’t tell from googling which of these is slated to be released first. Do we know?
(Neither has a release date yet, but I figured it’s likely that people have an idea which is closer to release. But maybe not?)
No one outside Blizzard really knows, but good money is on the first chapter of Star Craft II. It was announced first and it looks almost done (based on video and previews).
My money is on Star Craft II this holiday season with Diablo III summer of next year.
Starcraft 2 was announced first, and had gameplay trailers released first, and the gameplay trailers that were released seemed to include a larger portion of the game content for SC2 than for D3. Plus, of course, Starcraft is by far the better-selling franchise, so they have more incentive to get it out. Put it all together, and it all points to SC2 being sooner.
My guess is Starcraft II…I’ve seen a lot more about it on GameSpy and IGN, and there seems to be a lot more buzz about it in general. For my part, I’m more looking forward to the new Diablo game, personally…but I’ll probably pick both of them up whenever they ship (well, maybe a few weeks after they ship…I’m in no particular rush, what with Fallout 3, Empire Total War and the new mini-expansion for Sins all competing for my time currently).
