Which law is most commonly flouted?

For my money it is either speeding, or failure to stop completely at a Stop sign, or at a red light when turning right. There are a lot of those violations.

Several have mentioned this. Around here, almost everyone makes a complete stop. I know I do.

There is a four-way stop that I go through pretty regularly - I find that I’m starting to not even slow down that much if there is no one else there (clear view in all directions and yes I know that isn’t an excuse) (and notice others doing the same). At some point, either I’ll crash into someone or the police will park an officer there for a few days and write a bunch of tickets.

Heh, there’s a four way stop on the corner I live on. I know I’ve rolled through it while making a right, mostly because I don’t get up to 4MPH before I get to it. So if no one else is sitting there or pulling up to the intersection, I’ll roll through it. Of course, then I proceed to speed everywhere. So even my regularly running that stop sign doesn’t really bring the numbers any more even to speeding.

Aside, just because I think it’s funny: When nitwits try to roll through that intersection at anything over a crawl on an east-west axis, It’s entertaining. That road is a fairly steep grade, and of course the road it crosses is level. So cars going east bottom out when they hit the level street, and then launch a bit when the springs rebound and the road continues to decline. Going west they just launch when they get to the level road. I’ve seen a bumper cover or two left out there, but haven’t seen anyone screw up the landing so bad they end up in someone’s yard.

And that’s using the most conservative interpretation.

1 trip = 1 violation.

Most liberal view.
Each occurrence = 1 violation ie. 1 trip = dozens of violations.

If I had to guess the most flouted laws in the United States would all be traffic laws with speeding being Number One by far.

Other commonly flouted traffic laws:

Not using turn signals to turn

Failure to come to complete stop at stop sign (especially among cyclists --they are supposed to obey stop signs as well)

Failure to yield when legally obligated

Non traffic laws I have seen violated frequently;

Littering

Leash law violations(you supposed to have your dog leashed when you are with them in public even if they are small. I am actually surprised no one here has mentioned them yet.) Also failing clean up when you dog takes a crap.

In the last two days, I’ve seen an amazing number of people jaywalking across significantly trafficked streets. Most of them deliberately don’t look at the cars approaching them.

That sounds like someone WANTS to get hit, probably because they’re trying to play “insurance settlement lotto”.

Same here. But a lot people do find US Smarties chalky. But then, I’m one who thinks everyone has their own tastes, and there’s no reason to insult others or act superior to them or make fun of them for their tastes just because they differ from yours. You see it all the time. Sure, the pineapple-on-pizza bit is usually all in good fun (at least when I’ve seen it). But the way I’ve seen people act about mass manufacture beer, well-done steak, American chocolate, chain pizza, etc. is just really rude. Thankfully, it’s at least much more an online phenomenon than real life one in my experience.

Maybe any store whose motto is “the lowest price is the law”. I’m looking at you, Zellers. “I’ll be back.”

But that’s a question, not a rule, followed by “Do you suck them very slowly / or crunch them very fast?”

(Yes, this is all in good fun! And confusing Americans, who think https://www.smarties.com/ are Smarties.)
