There is some debate going on here as to which Lite Brite jingle was better. I remember growing up with:
“Lite Brite, Lite Brite, turn on the magic light for colored lights…”
Or some-such like that. A co-worker of mine said, “Oh no” and proceeded to sing:
“Lite Brite, making things with liiiiight…”
Which do you remember? And can anyone find a .wav file or something. My googling skills are proving to be poor on this one.

I’m sorry that might not have been clear. I meant that I also agree with your co-worker, and the song I remember was “Lite Brite, making things with light.”
Ah ha - *of * makes more sense here. And yeah, I’m 26. My co-worker is 37. I’m sure the jingle changed over time. I just wonder if anyone can remember something other than these two, or find me a sound file. Sorry to torture those who have now had the jingle repeat button pushed inside their heads. 
Forty here, and I remember the cow-orker’s version too. I also remember it being “What a sight!”
We had one, lots of fun, although I usually ended up just making consecutive rows of colors once we used up all the templates. Never occurred to us to buy more black construction paper.
Neither of those sound exactly right to me, although I can’t think of wha tit should be, either.

I remember the OP’s version. In fact, I sing it to myself at least once a month.
The commercial’s jingle belongs in the same mental file cabinet as the songs to My Little Pony and My Buddy commercials.

I’m 29, and I recall “turn on the magic”. Maybe it’s regional? For what it’s worth, I was born and raised here in Jersey.
Has anybody seen the Lite Brite Cube? I wish they’d had that when I was little!
And somebody please tell me I was not the only one to require someone with a pair of tweezers to remove one of those pegs from my nose.
