Which Lite Brite jingle do you remember?

::starts rolling around on his back, foaming like a rabid dog. If he doesn’t want to go to murderous rampages about the fact he already posted that link back in post 21, perhaps he should calm down, and start using more descriptive hotlinks::

24, and I also remember the OPs version. Along with My Buddy and Kid Sister, I’ve now got “Pow- pow- powerwheels, pow-pow-powerwheels” going in my head.

I am old, and I remember the same one as your coworker. Holy cats, I never realized what a lame jingle that was. Talk about stating the obvious. Yes, we’re making things with light, trademarked “lite” in particular.

And my gosh, the things shag carpets could hide. My mom is still finding Legos in the carpet, and she hasn’t had a child living at home for more than 15 years. Common carpet finds:
Lite Brite pegs
Legos
Those little beads from “friendship pins”
The beads and actual pins (ouch) from Bead Doll kits

Oh… sorry. I spent all this time double checking… I even did a find on “entertainment”. I missed your “This site”. (I think my 'puter had trouble loading it the other day, so I never saw it.)
And please don’t foam. That’s yucky.

::Gets up, wipes his mouths, and apologizes for overreacting::
Sorry, it’s just that often, it feels like people don’t read posts, regardless of what they actually did, and I saw a comic strip of someone enraged, earlier today, and the image stuck with me.

I’m 27 and I remember the “Light Brite, making things with liiiiiiiiight” one. Maybe I was the last to know that jingle?

I don’t remember the other one at all, and believe me I remember all those jingles. Just the other day I was walking around my house singing the Popples song. The Puffalump song gets in my head a lot too.

Ah, yes. List of top 10 things found in 70s-early 80s shag carpet:
Legos (the 1x1 blocks-- ow!)
Lite brite pegs
Puzzle pieces
The beads noted above
The other beads (as posted above-- I don’t remember these, but I was a tomboy, and I take your word for it)
Chunks of plastic easter grass
Ground-in patches of Green Slime
The little pegs for that construction toy. . . not lincoln logs, but the one. . . nevermind. With the short cyllinders that would take pegs on 6 points. . . With the wooden pegs like ikea bookcases have?
Erector set rivets/ rivitron rivets (that was a cool thing)
Marbles (the sound when one gets sucked into the vacuum. . .)

Anything else I’m missing?

Tinkertoys? Mom’s junk drawers are full of those pegs. I think the new ones might be plastic now, but the ones we played with in the Dark Ages (the 70s) were wooden.

There was also something that was like Erector Set, but different (yes, I know that’s helpful. Griders and Something? Something and Griders?) – it had plastic joining pieces with sharp edges, and the smallest ones also became fodder for the shag, causing foot pain akin to the 1 x 1 Lego block.

The thing that mystifies me the most is that of all the stuff Mom’s carpet coughs up periodically, does it ever see fit to return Han Solo’s blaster – something I would actually want? No, no it does not. I know it’s in there somewhere!

Tinker Toys? Dad wouldn’t let me have Lincoln Logs (“You have enough Legos,” he said) so Mom gave me her old Tinker Toys.

I’m 28, and the only version I remember is “I’m making things with lights / Lite-Brite makes them glow…” I had no idea there were so many different ones.

Yep. The jingle was a mock “old-timey radio” voice singing:

Some kids go… [sound effect] - when they sit 'n spin
Some kids go… [another sound effect] - when they sit 'n spin
repeat first line…
Sit 'n Spin
Sit 'n Spin
Sit 'n Spin
Get yourself new Sit 'n Spin

Guess they couldn’t think of a lot of words for the jingle.

And how about, “Wheel-o, Wheel-o, Whee! it’s a lot of fun…”

BTW, I remember “Light Bright, making things with light…”, so I must be old.

The original Lite Brite toy was created in 1967 by Hasbro, but there were several Lite Brite jingles through out the years. The original Jingle of Lite Brite that I remember was from 1970’s and it went like this…

(jingle begins)…
Lite Brite making things with light, out of sight making things with Lite Brite.
(Jingle singing stops, instrumental music continues playing in background while the commentator say’s)…
Lite Brite, the toy that lets you create beautiful pictures with light.
(Jingle singing then continues)…
Lite Brite making things with light,
(Jingle singing stops again, while instrumental music continues to plays in background, then the commentator say’s)…
Work with colorful pegs that glow with light, light bulb not included, make people, animals, things, and with refills, bugs bunny and bozo the clown.
(Jingle singing then continues)…
Lite Brite making things with light.
(jingle singing stops again while commentator then says)…
You can make lots of pretty picture with Lite Brite, from Hasbro.
(jingle ends)

There was another similar jingle also in the 70’s that came after this one, but it was sang by a different singer, 3rd jingle came in the 80’s which was a completely different jingle, others followed after that.
