Hasbro is killing off one piece and adding another and asking for votes.
The new options are:
diamond ring
guitar
toy robot
cat
helicopter
And with one added, an old one must go:
shoe
top hat
wheelbarrow
clothes iron
battleship
race car
thimble
dog
Whats your vote? I say add the Guitar and remove the stupid iron!

I don’t want to get rid of any of them, but if you need to, I agree with losing the iron .
For a new piece, it’s equal time, baby! Therefore, the cat gets my vote.

As the pieces were originally meant to represent common household items, I say loose the battleship and bring in the helicopter.
What’s that you say? You don’t have a helicopter, a top hat or a race car?
Well really!
Individually, I’d say add robot and remove battleship .
But this means I couldn’t make the robot and battleship fight, so what’s the point?
Edit: Lose wheelbarrow . Thing is always a pain to make it stand up right anyway and no one ever says “Ooohh! I get wheelbarrow!”

Well really!
Your house must be… AWESOME
Lose: thimble; it’s boring.
Get: Diamond ring (very capitalist!) or robot (because well, robots!)
Get rid of the stupid thimble.
I’m torn between adding the cat or the robot.
The wheelbarrow on its side represents the crushing of the working class beneath the iron heel of capitalism!
And is therefore perfectly appropriate for Monopoly .
Our Monopoly set had the old-school wooden pawns with different shapes . I always liked the one that looked a bit like a milk can.
I’d say ditch the iron and add the cat.

Get rid of the iron. No one likes the iron.
Do not replace it with the diamond ring. That has got “luxury tax” written all over it.
Do not replace it with the guitar, as getting rich in real estate with a guitar is a pipe dream.
Do not replace it with the cat, as this will cause needless friction with the player who selects the dog.
Do not replace it with the helicopter, as this is a game of streets, not airways.
Replace the iron with the robot. Just makes sense.
My mother always played the iron! She was a housewife! Drop the shoe instead.
And, you gotta add the cat. My dog-owning friends invariably played the dog. Gotta have something for the cat lovers.
Can we compromise and add a Laser Cat?
The wheelbarrow sucks ass. It must go.
I say add the cat.
We had the old wooden pawns when we were kids. I liked the red and black ones. My sister always had to have the tall one.

Lose the Iron because who likes ironing? We have Real Estate to buy here!
Add the Root because everything needs more Robots.

Too bad the root isn’t a real choice. I’d take the silver carrot every time.

And make sure the cat can do tricks. My dog always goes around the board, balancing on his front feet and nose, tail high in the air.

I fear it’s only fair to add the cat, but my vote stands behind the toy robot. Because that’s frigging cool. And I agree that as boring as the iron is, that annoying wheelbarrow constantly flipping over is the one that needs to go though. I hated chasing that stupid thing all around the board.
Lose the wheelbarrow, add the robot. If not the robot, the helicopter.
I never wanted to play the thimble, the shoe, or the iron. So ashcan one of those.
As for the new ones – any one except the diamond ring.

The wheelbarrow kicks ass. You can’t get rid of the wheelbarrow. I always thought the thimble was pretty stupid, so that can go.
My set doesn’t have the battleship. I’m not sure if it got lost or forgotten, or if it didn’t yet exist when my set was made.
