What, together? I don’t think I’d ever mix bourbon with scotch - a waste of both liquors, IMO. And I’d never mix SoCo with anything; can’t stand the stuff, personally.
Scotch.
Add a glass. And a roaring fire. And a cold stormy night outside. And a cigar.
And a shotgun to deal with the mofo who approaches you with other “miscellaneous ingredients.”
For those who WOULD mix, would cognac not ruin any combo?
Like ice, water or their backwash.
I don’t think you’re going to find many folks around here who would mix brown liquors with each other.
Generally speaking, brown liquors are best either (a) straight or (b) mixed with something lighter and/or something citrus. For instance, a sidecar is cognac, cointreau and lemon juice. There’s a reason you won’t find classic cocktail recipes with multiple brown liquors – they don’t go well together.
Just wait until silenus sees what you tried to do. You’re in big trouble, young man.
I don’t know the name offhand, but an old classic cocktail is SoCo and cranberry juice.
<scurries off to Google…> Ah, it’s called a Scarlett O’Hara. Apparently it’s one of the first cocktails developed with SoCo back around 1939. The Wiki page has a handful of others.
As for the bourbon and scotch - “a glass” would be the thing to add.
This.
As for the others, put the bourbon in your liquor cabinet in case you have guests who prefer it.
And pour the Southern Comfort down the sink.
Thanx guys. I stick to Cape Codders (hold the lime) myself. More “Just OK AMerican Novel” research.
Bourbon & Coke is my standard order, to the point that a few of the dealers at my favorite casino will get the Pit Boss to call for a waitress as soon as I sit down. They know I’m not an asshole, I tip, and I needs my bourbon & coke to prevent dehydration and other dire consequences.
I was hoping this might be about other types of Combos. My vote is cheddar cheese pretzel!
