Which ONE Crime Would You Like The True Answer To?

I made a thread about it before, but there was a fascinating news story many years ago about a couple returning home from vacation that started getting harrassing and threatening text on the screens of their TVs, and the text would even respond to their voices as if the house had been bugged. The FBI got involved but there was never any suspect and I could find very little information on the case, I called the woman who it happened to and she got upset almost as soon as I asked her about it. I really wish I could find who did it.

Where the hell are all of my left socks?

Definitely Lizzie Borden.

Close second: Poor little Jonbenet Ramsey. I really felt like in all the media kerfluffle everyone forgot a little girl had been murdered brutally.

And lastly: Black Dahlia.

So many to choose. Since the OP requested one only, I’d have to flip a coin between Jack the Ripper and the princes in the tower.

Heads.

I also must go for Jack.

OOOOH, good one!!!

JFK is number one. So many weird things about that, plus the historical scope of it

Another one, and I don’t know if it counts as a* crime* per se, but the theft of the Amber Room by the Nazis

Yeah. I don’t really think it was the parents anymore, but the whole media feeding frenzy just obscured what ever facts might be found. It was probably solvable at first.

Oh, hey, I didn’t realize I posted in this thread a few years ago. And I was just kidding at the time.

But I think we are going to have to wait until the CIA declassifies the employee files of Jim Morrison and Janice Joplin before I can finish the newsletter, if I live that is.

I read a pretty convincing article that the cause was that the fumes from the ethyl alcohol they were carrying would spontaneously combust, freaking out everyone on the ship so they just hopped onto a lifeboat instead of chancing it on a boat that would flash flames every couple of hours.

So are you providing the real answers or what, OP?

i used to have a book that contained a story on how"John Bennet could have saved his own life" by making four spades, but anyone who bid like he did was bound to come to a bad end.

Barry Crane, one of the greatest tournament bridge players of all-time and director of Mission Impossible (television) among other shows.

Natalie Wood

Barry and Bob Crane…just sayin’…

Was he driving a tan Volkswagen Beetle? That was what Bundy drove at that time.

Bundy’s MO was to talk the woman into the car, though. He didn’t use any force until the woman was in his car.

Bruce Ivins, the alleged anthrax killer, committed suicide by overdosing on Tylenol.

Perhaps it was a message and he was also responsible for the murders resulting from Tylenol being laced with cyanide back in the early 80’s.

Like I said, I don’t remember all the details. I need to ask my mom. It may well have been someone else, maybe a rapist but not killer.

The Lindbergh kidnapping. Mostly because of the local interest. I know a few people who have looked into the case extensively. I’m convinced Bruno Hauptmann was involved and guilty. But he certainly wasn’t alone and most likely wasn’t the main actor.

The Darlie Routier case-mostly because I think she may be innocent.

He used a fake cast to get the young woman to help him at his car at his first known *successful *abduction. It’s possible he tried other ways before he hit on that ruse.
