Which ONE Crime Would You Like The True Answer To?

Jesus, more specifically who dug him up and where did they hide the body?

What was the exact hand that John Bennett played at the Bridge table, that lead to his wife shooting him deid? 4 spades minus two = death

Serious one - Madeleine Mcann. The family gets a fair bit of stick and snide innuendo directed their way, but there’s never been anything serious implicating them in her disapperance - certainly nothing as dodgy as some of the cases mentioned already in this thread. I guess the massive media coverage makes me wonder about it more.

Yes. The truck didn’t have locks, at all, so I put them in the glove compartment to sorta hide them from casual passers-by. No, I don’t remember why I had spare jeans in the car; probably had something to do with working two jobs and sometimes sleeping over at my sweetie’s rather than drive 40 miles home to sleep. It was quite a while ago. BUT I STILL MISS THOSE JEANS!

Come back and try again.

Yes, but it is still open and I don’t really speculate about it.

Thanks. I hope so also…

JonBenet Ramsey.

That family was so insanely creepy! Did you all ever see Coraline? The Ramseys were like the button-eyed version of a nice upper-upper-middle-class family. Underneath the veneer of perfection lurked sheer horror.

I want to know to what extent the values and ideals embraced by the Ramseys contributed to JonBenet’s assault and murder.

JonBenet Ramsey, again.

I’m going to come back and post again, because I’m really surprised that I’m the only one that seems to have mentioned Lockerbie. Or maybe more folks around here know it better as Pan Am Flight 103.

270 dead.

An awful lot of political to-ing and fro-ing, before the flimsiest of evidence is deemed enough to lock up a single individual, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi.

Massive international backlash when he was released on compassionate grounds due to terminal illness (or apparent terminal illness… he’s still alive five months later).

Given some of the debate in this thread, I thought a few more people on the Dope would have been interested in having this one solved.

How about the burning of the Library at Alexandria?

I plead guilty to the crime of not reading the entire OP. :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to know what happened to Tara Grinstead- it’s a local thing for me. http://www.findtara.com/

David Tamihere was convicted of the Swedish Tourist Murders. Shock new theory on Tamihere's Swedish murders | Stuff.co.nz i’d like to know if he really did it.

He’s always got spot on instincts on where to look for the real killer.

I don’t claim to be an expert on the JonBenet Ramsey murder.

But what I have learned about it has convinced me that the Ramseys were not involved, and were victims of a particularly brutal instance of being tried in the media. The police were shockingly sloppy in securing the crime scene, which was probably to blame for the killer’s evasion.

There was a time when I thought otherwise. Their hiring of a lawyer right after the murder sounded fishy to me. But I’ve since learned, as a cop friend told me at the time, that’s what rich people do when they are in any way involved in a crime, even if they’re innocent victims. The creepiness of those children’s beauty pageants certainly raised a lot of people’s eyebrows. But while JonBenet’s exposure in those contests may have been a factor in her being targeted, I don’t think there was anything worse than the age-old situation of an ex-beauty queen (Mrs. Ramsey was a former Miss West Virginia) wanting to live her youth over again through her kid.

There was also some weirdness in the amount demanded in ransom being identical to the father’s recent bonus.

But the Ramseys were scrutinized *very *closely. Nothing in their past - either one of them - indicated the kinds of disorders that could lead to such a crime.

If I am wrong about anything factual here, please feel free to correct me.

And yes, I would indeed like to know who did commit the crime.

JFK, for the reasons others have put forth.

I think I remember that the stationary or writing paper that the uber-bizzare “ransom note that wasn’t actually a ransom note” ('cause the kid’s dead body was still in the house) was written on proved to be taken from the Ramsay’s own home.

If some random stranger (or disgruntled employee or even a pedo who was specifically targeting JonBenet) comitted this crime, would they really search the house for writing paper (either before, during or after a murder) and then take the time to hand write a multi-page note?

You are right that the Ramsay family was under microscopic scrutiny, but my sense is that the family was somehow involved in JonBenet’s death (which in my mind was probably accidentally caused by one of the parents) and were actually able to get away with it.

OK ------ I had hoped someone else would point out the obvious. It was Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon. I believe PETA tried to claim responsibility but the question almost answered itself.

that was…perfect. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, third page and I’m the first to say Judge Crater.
