Which state quarter do you see a lot of?

It appears that the state quarters are not distributed equally among the 50 states. For example, here in Wisconsin, I can’t get away from the Connecticut ones (or “damn trees” as we refer to them). I can get a dollar’s worth of change and get 3 of them every time. On the other hand, I rarely see Delaware or New Jersey. Georgia and Pennsylvania are pretty rare around here as well.

What are the common ones where you are and which ones are rare? (Let me know if you need some “damn trees,” of the six quarters in my pocket, four are trees, one is Massachusetts and the other two are old ones.)

Out of the six quarters in your pocket, you listed seven

I get the Massachusetts ones about twice as often as any others, it seems. I’m in IL fwiw.

I see a lot of those funny ones with the Queen of England on 'em. That soda machines won’t accept.

Why the heck do we have such similar money to Canada (or vice versa?) It’s handy, and yet it isn’t.

By God you’re right!! I have SEVEN quarters, hell I’m rich!

I’m seeing a lot of Georgias, and lately, a lot of Massachusetts and Maryland here in New York City.

Part of the reason you’re seeing so many more Connecticut, Mass., is that they have almost doubled to production figures since the first three(DE, PA, NJ). And, of course, the older ones have been out a year longer and scooped up by the general public, to return in 10-20 years.

I am from Michigan… I see those “damn trees,” as well. I don’t think I’ve even seen half of them. What do the rest look like?

Well, they’re round, metal, with a picture of George Washington on them…

Check this site to see all that have been issued so far, as well as the two other new ones that are coming out in 2000.

Reporting from Massachusetts:

Lots of ‘damn trees’ here too, and lots of ‘damn guys with muskets’ as well.
