New Quarters

I read an earlier thread asking where the new dollar bills are and it led me to ask this question: Where are the new quarters? I live in Utah and so far I have seen a grand total of 5 Kentucky quarters and 1 Tennessee quarter. If a new quarter has been released after Tennessee I haven’t seen that one either. Are people really collecting these at such a rate that the new ones are never reaching wide general distribution or have I just been unlucky?

I get new quarters all the time. In fact, nearly half of the quarters I get in change are the new ones. Maybe everyone in Seattle is spending their old quarters in Utah!

I’ve gotten all of them so far, up to Tennessee. I’ve got to check what the next one to look for is (Ohio?)

Here in New Jersey, I get nothing but new quarters. I’m beginning to wonder how to avoid them. I want ONE of each to throw into my coin jar, but hundred’s of them.

Yes, Ohio is next.

I see them all the time, as well. As others have said, about half the quarters I see are new quarters, and it’s only interesting now if it’s one of the newer ones.

I’m in the same boat as Hilow - To date, I’ve seen a total of four Kentuckys and one Tennessee - and Ohio is already out, according to the mint’s website.

Yep, Ohio is out. I live in MI and we get them somewhat regularly.

Since I use the vending machines at work each day and I use the bill changers, I get a lot of quarters as a result, but yet my luck with the last few states has still been dismal. I was doing pretty well with collecting the state quarters until Kentucky and Tennessee came out. It took me forever to get two Kentucky’s, and to date I only have one Tennessee. I’ll keep my eyes open for the Ohio quarters.

JESUS…Ohio is frigging’ AWFUL! That astronaut thing is beyond doofusy. I’m so embarrassed I was BORN in that stupid state. As a native of Cleveland, I would have preferred a set of smokestacks, a kielbasa, or a blazing Cuyahoga.

Thank god Indiana is worse. Is that supposed to be a race car or a dragonfly?

Mississippi, on the other hand, is gorgeous…right up there with Tennessee and Connecticut, if not better.

When I have to get change for a $5 bill at work (quite often) at least a third of the quarters I get back each time are new ones. And I get the newest ones before a woman at work who collects them realizes they are out. I intentionally put them in the coke machines before she can ask me to check for them because I’m so tired of hearing about them.

All I get in change are new quarters, which really pisses me off because the vending machines in this dorm building don’t accept most of them.

A kielbasa? Naw… But how about a pierogi?
