The Ford Falcon Xb in Mad Max is sweet and a hell of a lot more realistic to own, but I seriously doubt it could hold a candle, nay, a match to the SLR McLaren. That car is the defination of supercar. Seriously, it’s basically a street legal F1 car.
Well, there’re these. I’d take one. Bitch to park in a ramp, though, but Nurse Carmen already beat me to dibs on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
I’ll have the Street Hawk
I think that RV from Stripes would qualify.
Oh, and The Highwayman truck/helicopter.
Not a super truck, but…
Nuclear powered, and it’s got a swimming pool and a bowling alley…
If I can’t have Gay Deceiver, I’ll take this.
Does this count? 'cause I’d rather have one of those than the Damnation Alley RV. Probably gets better mileage, and I wouldn’t get hassled by the cops about machine guns or flame throwers.
Plus, roof rack!
Dunno if it qualifies as a super car, but someone in Foxboro has a van painted like the Mystery Machine. It just sucks though 'cause it’s got a window right in the middle of the paint job.
And it changes its own tires and has a piano lounge! “Tangerine…”
**Madd Maxx ** - why settle for that? The world’s fastest production car is the Koenigsegg CCR. 0-60 in 3 seconds, top speed 242 mph. Fuel economy’s not bad either - about 22 mpg on the highway. One can be yours for around $580,000. I like this line from their site: “the materials are without exception very costly.” At least they’re honest! You do at least get a sumptuous interior, air conditioning and CD player.
This made me think, carbon fiber is so yesterday’s technology. Now with carbon nanotube ribbon becoming available the body should be able to be reproduced at a significantly lower weight in a few years time.
If it’s not a '67-'70 Chevy, they shouldn’t have bothered.
That’s sooooo defeatist.
How about Bessie, then?
Freddy drove a Chevy for at least some of the series. You could tell by the low-set headlights.
Why not a Super Sonic Jet Car?
I’ve only driven by it a few times so I haven’t taken a real close look. (Kinda sad considering that I work for an auto glass co., but I know cars better than vans.) I’m headed down that way tomorrow though so if I remember I’ll try to get a picture. I don’t think they even drive it, it’s been there every time I’ve gone past the last two years.
Personally, having given the subject some serious consideration, I think the Shaguar is more my style.
You’ll never get me to drive this super-vehicle. Ugh.
No one’s mentioned the classic, yet? For shame.
