I’ve got many threads on “normal” or “muted”, but currently and for the first time, I’ve got “One line - Identify the Movie” in Thread Games on “Watching”.
I have got it set that I’m automatically watching every thread I posted in, so I’m actually watching every thread I have posted in since the switch to Discourse, though many of them are not active any more.
I’m set to automatically watch every thread I’ve read or posted to. Which amounts to many hundreds, maybe even a couple thousand since Discourse began.
The result is the “unread” page shows me every thread I’ve ever expressed interest in that has had recent action.
I have un-watched some where I’ve lost interest in how they’ve wandered. Some also get a lot more long-lived than my level of interest. Those threads get set back to Normal and disappear from my Unread page.
Now what I don’t do is ask Discourse to send me emails for any of this crap. I’m here enough that the colored numbers on my avatar and the “Unread” page can keep me abreast of what I’m already interested in. And the “New” page shows me all the fairly fresh stuff I haven’t noticed yet.
