I’m confused about which .vbs files to delete. There was some vbs worm a while back, and I just checked to see what is on my hard drive by using Find files with *.vbs. I have a variety of files with that extension. On one web site the advice was to delete all except ones with:
Showvar
Shortcut
Registry
Network
Excel
Chart
My list includes patch1.vbs. I wonder if that was something from the antivirus software. Does anyone know about what to do here? Norton does not detect any virus, and my research is confusing. Thanks!
Make sure your Norton is set to check *.vbs files, then copy and paste those files into a throwaway folder. That simple action should cause Norton to scan those files. If nothing pops up, delete the throwaway folder.
Erm, make sure your AV signature files are up to date first, of course.
