I am female and we switch places every so often so both can be inside/outside of the snuggle.
Male and prefer to be the back spoon but we do swap sometimes. We’re both 5’10" so it makes switching fairly simple
I much prefer to be the front spoon. I like to be held. However, so does he, so we switch back and forth. For the record, he has about a foot on me but I have no problem being the back spoon. I just like the front better.
I like holding on to him and he likes holding on to me - it’s win/win
I hate being the back spoon for very long, because I don’t know what to do with my arm on the side facing the bed. It’s very, very uncomfortable. How can people sleep this way?
This is my exact problem. The bottom arm feels awkward no matter where I put it.
I like being on the back, but I turn in my sleep so it never lasts.

Male, back spoon… easy access. 
Female and I like being the front spoon. However, my husband also likes being the front spoon, so we trade off a bit. But I usually get to be the front spoon.
This sums up my thoughts exactly, and is why I voted for “male, back spoon”. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy being the front spoon on occasion (for, er, obvious reasons), but back is the norm for me.
I like both, but when we’re sleeping I have to be the back spoon because I feel crushed by my husband the other way after a while.
I’m female and I have no preference. We’re two women and we do it either way randomly. Feels just as good either way.
Male here- I’m usually the back spoon, but we don’t sleep that way. In fact, neither of us can sleep while touching the other person; we each stay on our own sides of the bed to sleep, thankyouverymuch. But for morning wakey-time snuggling, I’m often in the back. Sometimes, though, we’ll both need to change positions, so we’ll roll over and I’ll be in the front. That gives her the opportunity for a reacharound, which is a nice way to begin the day.
Male, and I picked other. It really depends on what I’m in the mood for. If I want to be loving and protective, or if I want to play a little game of grindy grindy, I’m the back spoon. If I want to get some sleep, I’m the front spoon.
Greater muscle mass, generally speaking. Muscle gives off heat in a way that (adult, white) fat cells don’t. That’s also why y’all lose weight easier and faster, too, darnit. Muscle cells burn more energy than fat cells.
That being said, I’m a female furnace.
I never really thought about the temperature thing. I get hot easily, so maybe that’s one reason why I like to be the back spoon.
You put it so that the front spoon is resting their head on it. Then you can use both hands/arms on the front spoon.

Female, straight; usually prefer being the front spoon, but sometimes like being the back spoon. Very tall and usually date guys about the same height as me, so height difference usually doesn’t factor in.
I’m another one of those who can’t cuddle all night, though, much as I’d like to. If I want to get any sleep, sooner or later I have to shove my partner to the other side of the bed.
I get cold very easily–many jokes through the years about me being cold-blooded. All my boyfriends have been like furnaces.

I put down “no preference”, but really I like doing both. Always one or the other wouldn’t be as good.
