whirls and arches - fingerprints

i remember reading that people with alot of whirls are more likely to have heart problems. I have 5 whirls, 3 on my left hand and 2 on my right. neither of my thumbs or pinkies have whirls, they’re all arches.

what are the rest of you like? i must say i think arches look nicer.

I hope the rumour you read isn’t right N K. My fingerprint patterns are arranged symmetrically, with loops on both my little fingers (appearing from stage right on my left hand and vice versa), and the rest are all whorls  (I think that’s the right spelling, BTW).

I too hope that’s innaccurate. Every single one of my fingerprints is a whorl!

I do dimly recall reading something that indicated some correlation between certain medical conditions and certain fingerprint patterns. I don’t remember any details except that I was in the clear because whorls were not the pattern mentioned in the article. Not much help there, was I?

Anyway. . .I think whirls look nicer.

Here is an article that addresses this question - it seems to be written by a reputable organization in India.

I did a Google search for “whorls heart problems”. (I think ‘whorls’ is the English spelling?)

ah i notice i have loops and whorls not arches and whorls. i dont have any arches.

so i have 5 whorls and 5 loops. loops are good, whorls are bad, so i guess it works out even.

aside from my thumbs and pinkies, the only finger i have with a loop is my right middle finger. anyone else like me?
