White Christmas?

5" fell last night, on top of the ~5" already on the ground. It’s still snowing now, and the forecast is for another 8"+. So we could have 18-20" on the ground. Snowball fight anyone?

I’ve been here for 36 years and remember a couple of times, of course I’m from Frederick and the mountains so we did get snow when others didn’t. However, I do remember in 02 or 03, I think 02, it was snowing on Christmas as I drove to my father’s house in it.

What is a White Christmas? I was always told it had to be snowing on Christmas day, now people are saying it just has to have snow on the ground. If that’s the case then it’ll be a nice brown Christmas this year as we had some digging in our yard this week.

After a very hot Christmas Eve (35C in the choir gallery last night), a cool change today has given us one of the coldest Christmas Days for a long time (15C). We were all left scurrying for jumpers. In the end we actually lit the fire.

It’s still been raining all night at the freezing mark.

I have a photo from that event which my sister sent me, of my nephew standing outside holding my neice. Things look barely frosted with snow.
It’s very rare to get a white Christmas here in Jackson. I’ve seen a few in North Miss. (where I grew up) but I could probably count the times on one hand.

HD, I hope your power stays on. Got my fingers crossed for ya.
