White Elephant...anyone want another?

Gundy, that’s not a bootleg Episode II - that’s just the soundtrack - sorry to disappoint you. But it’s still pretty good music.

And glad you like the rest of the stuff!

Thank You, I’m so glad you like it. BTW CONGRATULATIONS on Getting Married - all the best to you both.

Well, it’s been over a month since the White Elephant addresses were assigned… but Miz Alice did give us up to 8 weeks…

sigh… I wanna get a box in the mail…

I’m still waiting too… After three successful exchanges, is this the time I get stood up?

Oddly enough, I live in Tennessee, yet I got your box. Of course, being a diehard Kentucky fan, I have my own reasons to hate Michigan(92 Final Four).

Hi FCM. I’m still waiting too. Pull up a cushion and sit down.

I’ve got chocolate. . .

Ah, Zap, you know my weakness…

Heh heh heh.

It’s what makes me so dangerous, FCM.

<cheesy accent> I ahm like ze silver wolf. . .handzome, yes. But dangerous! </cheesy accent>

I’m sorry, Poli, I’m a horrible person. I was waiting for an eBay thing to get to me, and… and I’m still a horrible person. I promise I’ll get it in the mail tomorrow, or you can have my first born. I don’t have a first born either, though, so you’d have to wait for that too.

For the record, I’m waiting too.

Well, my box o’ goodies is in the hands of the USPS, so, it’s up to them to get it to it’s intended destination. I hope to hear a positive report of delivery early next week!

beegirl13 - got my white elephant last week. Thank you! My 10 year old was practically in the box, so I stepped back and let him look… He snapped up the dinosaurs, snow-globe, action figures and the soap.

Hey folks - just your friendly neighbourhood Elephant Wrangler checking in.

It looks like people are receiving stuff, which is good. I’m currently compiling cra… um, amazing treasures for anyone that doesn’t receive a package, and I need to know who’s still waiting.

I’ll give Elephanter’s a full 8 weeks to come through (Thats August 26 folks), but an idea of how many packages I have to send out would be great. Could anyone who either a)hasn’t got a package, or b)cannot send a package please e-mail me? I’ve already heard from a few people that are having trouble getting things together, but a complete list would be great, just so I have some idea how I’m gonna have to divy this stuff up. (and to Elephanter’s - PLEEESE try to send your package - I’m to be used only as a LAST RESORT!!! - I don’t have an unlimited postage budget. Thanks.)

Anyhow - fire away - my e-mail is in my profile.

Al.

galen ubal – we figured that out in short order. We still think it’s super keen – we actually own a couple of John Williams’ soundtracks. Dorks! Thanks again!

Heh. Yeah, when I hauled out your address to actually address the thing, I was like, “Hey, that’s not OHIO!!”

I believe the shirt is combustible, if you are so moved. Or you could use it to scrub the toilet. Whatever makes you happy.

I got my Elephant from RickQ on the 27th of July. I swear that I posted to this thread about it, but I guess the hamsters ate the post. Which is ok, since that thread died a horrible death, and at least it’s not my fault this time :stuck_out_tongue:
Here’s what I got:
All-Purpose Handy-Dandy, Southern-to-Yorkshire Multi-functional Guide to International Linguistic Harmony
The Quotable Cat (How did you know I love cats?)
Rick & Brynda’s Wedding CD
Macy Gray CD (A true White Elephant, at least to me. None of my friends will even let me give it to them!)
The Neville Brothers CD
4 red D-shaped things tied together (napkin rings??)
"cat nap” blindfold sleepy thing
tape “I’ll Sing for You” by Mike Hamer
Ocean Colour Scene CD (This has potential)
Sauces for Pasta! book
perfume
True crime book by Ann Rule (I have already devoured this one, as I do any unread book that appears in my house)
fish pins (will replace various pins that fell off my backpack in the course of the last semester)
necklace and ring
glass paperweight with sand from Isle of Wight in England
Note from Rick on a beautiful card with picture of Scotland (My roomie will love seeing this pic!)
BUBBLE WRAP!!

I have only listened to part of the Wedding CD, and read the Quotable Cat book. Haven’t had time to play with any
of the rest yet. Thanks, Rick!

And after much procrastination I finally got your’s out yesterday. It should be there today or tomorrow as I sent it from about 10 miles from you. Maybe I should have just dropped it off personally.

Hellooooo AZ? Come in AZ…? Do we have elephant?

Just checking.

I am so bad. I got my WE from Lyllan last week and forgot to post. Thanks so much–and yes, I could tell your kids helped. The kid toys are my favorite things.

Brynda, who is too lazy to sign in as herself.

What do you mean Macy Gray is a true white elephant, I like that CD (but we have two copies). Oh well, I guess not everyone has perfect taste in music like me

As for the red things, yes, they are napkin rings. They are an hierloom white elephant, as Brynda got them from the last go round.

I hope you like our wedding CD and the dictionary we wrote

Rick

Woohoo!! Just a couple of days ago, I was going to resurrect this thread and whine about not getting my elephant. But today I got my elephant!!! <happy dance>

I won’t necessarily say that good things come in small packages, but LOTS of things sure came in this package! Our letter carrier crammed it into the mailbox, then left the rest of our mail in the newspaper compartment underneath. So, without further ado, here are all the items Stoid gifted me with. (Obviously grammar lessons didn’t come in the box…)
[ul]
 A beanbag dalmatian – which my dalmatian just loves. I expect to have beanbag dalmatian bits all over the carpet before long.
 A tube of Silker 2-in-1 shaping cream. I wondered at first if it was a bust enhancer, but it’s for hair – “style and condition in one easy step”
 A Wire Art horse kit “Fun for ages 7-97”
 A Beverly Hillbillies lunchbox keychain with a teeny-tiny thermos and apple inside.
 A Qui-Gon Jinn keychain – his lightsabre is unimpressively short
 An adapter to make a 2-prong outlet accept a 3-prong plug
 A teeny little silk purse – maybe 2” square
 Botanical eye compresses – “to help soothe and revitalize the eye area” – but they require that I recline and relax for 20 minutes…. In this house?!?!
 A black Bic pen
 A packet of Italian flat leaf parsley seeds – packaged for 2000 – wonder if they’ll still grow?
 A wet-nap from Mobil Oil
 Six baby powder scent cloth towelettes – for freshening [sub]down there[/sub]
Chinese Rain perfume oil blend – nice scent!
 Two black hair clips – that is, they’re black, not necessarily for use on black hair
 A Cartman wristwatch – it’s not running – mebbe a dead battery?
 A blue arrow stamp marker
 A packet of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Bath
 A partially empty pack of cotton swabs
 A sample of Fair Beige foundation
 A gray pencil with an elephant on the end
 A glass pen and pen holder – the box says “Valley of the Kings – Made in Egypt” – this is cool
 A small black ceramic picture frame – the Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup] will try to take this
 A small fabric covered box
 A bottle of Cashmere Crème fingernail strengthener
 A small dolphin
 A dolphin rubber stamp
 Two water bomb balls
 A book called “What Dogs Teach Us”
 A book called “Rescue 471 – A Paramedic’s Story”
[/ul]What a wonderful way to end the week! Thanks, Stoid!!!
