A La Niña condition exists this year. That means that there’s a good chance that weather at these latitudes will be colder and wetter. We did get an early snow at Thanksgiving time, but temperatures have been pretty mild. It’s about 46º right now, and we’re expected to hit 49º. Is it wetter? Hard to say. There’s been some flooding in some areas, but there’s always flooding in some areas.
I’m not complaining, mind! I like the warm temperatures.
The PNW is getting a beatdown, as is the east coast and the midwest. I don’t know how you’re missing out on all the rain and lower temps in Seattle, but except for this week, it’s been pretty dreary down here.
It’s always dreary up here! (Except for the glorious summers! )
I think the Chuckanuts (?) block some of the nastier weather. Seattle’s weather seems to come from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Ours seems to come from the Fraser Valley. I do go to Seattle three days a week, but I did take a week off after Christmas. ISTR last year/a couple years ago that the temperatures in this area were in the teens. The 10-day outlook shows continuing warm temperatures.
