Whitney night on Lifetime

Watching the Clive Davis collection of the greatest Whitney Houston live performances tonight has brought tears to my eyes. What a loss. You know as time goes by, I sort of let her fade a bit, haven’t listened to her much recently. But I grew up on her music. She brings back so many good memories. I feel so lucky I was alive during her good singing years and got to hear her beautiful voice. Pure magic.

As for the worries her family has about what was portrayed in the movie, her fans don’t care. We already knew she was human, with vices and flaws, as we all have. We love her regardless, maybe more now.

I thought the movie was good. There was far too much time spent on sex scenes for my taste. But it succeeded in showing how truly passionate she and Bobby were for each other. The acting was great, and the woman who sang for her was awesome. The Bobby Brown interview was interesting and cleared up some things the media got so wrong. He seemed pretty genuine to me, except when he was explaining the domestic violence event. I didn’t buy that. I would have liked to hear from Bobbi Kristina too. But the best part of the night was the last hour. Nothing compares to hearing the real Whitney sing live.

Sorry for so much gushing, I’m just a bit mesmerized at the moment.
If you missed it, they’re repeating all 3 shows now.
