Who are members 1 through 5?

I’m 9680. I may not be a 99er, but I’m at least a four-digiter!

I am member 8334, which I desperately want to be beef in 133t5p34k, but I know isn’t.

New member jjdubs is our Beverly Hills member, #90210.

I wanted to see what kind of company I keep so I found this:

Bah, nothing cool about my number (although, apparently, Daedalus is my mirror-universe double, which is, imho a perfect name for a mirror-universe double. However, I already have a goatee, does this mean he has to be clean-shaven?). I petition TPTB to assign me a different, cooler, number. I notice #1 is available …

Pickens is actually a really nice place, great place for a hunting or fishing camp. I like Pickens.

Yeah, I had to slap myself on the wrist for that one.

(Actually the file entry became corrupted. And that’s the way it goes.)

I am number 9827, and my join date is 10-17-1999.

Number 9826’s join date is 09-29-2000, and 9828’s is also 09-29-2000. So this is a strange situation here.

After seeing that the numbers nearest mine were essentially inactive I went looking for the nearest to me with reasonable activity. Here’s what I saw:

The rest of that range of 42 numbers, with the exception of my 36386, are dead numbers as far as recent activity goes. That suggests to me that the membership numbers are, to say the least, inflated.

My number is 5280, suitable since I live in Denver.

You think that’s weird? My join date is 12-08-1999. That’s a month and a half after you. My user number? 3522

I’m 3516 now. But I used to have some really low number. I think I was 27 or something. But after posting for about a year, I decided to change my username and at the time that meant starting a new account.

I am number 4570, which seems to show up a lot in reference to firearms and computer hardware, neither of which are things I know anything about.

Same here, I’m 2338 now, but I had another membership but lost my username/password (I couldn’t recover it because it was associated with a defunct e-mail address) so I started a new account.

I am # 88148.
That is pretty boring except that:

Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Inc. has a product called Dermatopontin siRNA (h): sc-88148 that is “for independent verification of Dermatopontin gene silencing results.”

and

88148 is the item number for Stitch America’s North End Lightweight Crew Neck Windshirt.

and

CAZENEUVE HBY 590 Lathe is Product 88148

and

Kenmore makes a Microwave Over with a model number of 88148

and

La Conch Lighting makes a product called “Rut 88148 Recessed Projector Lights”

and

finally, last but not least and easily weirdest of all, 88148 is NOT a valid US Zip Code!

That’s pretty damn appropriate as well. Now I’ll always picture Leo McKern whenever I read one of Lynn’s posts.

I’m 24947 - I joined within a few weeks of you (Aug '02) but have fewer than 5,000 posts compared to your 28,000. Way to set the bar!

My number is 16104.

Am I the only one so far with an immediate neighbor who’s a poster of some note? I’m 6270, Thudlow Boink (10,076 posts, most recently about 15 minutes ago) is 6269 and registered the same day that I did (5/9/00).

Also, holy shit, I’ve been here for over a decade.

I am Member # 21252; this is a ZIP code in Baltimore, Maryland, a false event log entry generated by Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004 Service Pack 3 (SP3), and MacUpdate’s web page number for Parallels Desktop. Oh, and it’s the model number of a Craftsman 10" compound miter saw.

Well, Levdrakon is only two digits away from me, and I’ve certainly noticed the name, as he has twice as many posts as I.
