Who could possibly be Trump's running mate?

I did not say he would. He could get ticked-offenough to do so, tho.

Interesting. You said this:

For this to happen - that is, to capture a tidy portion of the Democrat’s voting block and weaken Hillary and take the prize - Sanders would actually have to accept. He won’t. So none of that will happen. Also, Hillary will choose a Democrat as her running mate.

No. He can’t. He really can’t.

I’ll do it.

I’m a citizen over 35, white, not from New York nor a state bordering New York, and can more or less think on my feet. And I’m not in the pocket of any *rival *billionaires.

Yet. But I can see that [For Sale] sign from here.

Martin Shkreli would be perfect if he were of age.

Awww, C’mon! Think of it as a Movie Concept.

“Administration At Bernie’s”**

**
The Pitch:** After the POTUS dies during an odd Hairdryer Accident, VP Bernie is sworn in as POTUS. In an odd celebratory coincidence, Bernie expires that night while surrounded by two incompetant staffers from NYC.

In an attempt to escape the scene of death, the two dress up Bernies corpse and try to escape from DC. During the attempt they end up taking the body with them. Bernie then manages…

Bungee Jumping off of the Francis Scott Key Bridge
Landing on the deck of a yacht of an important DOD official
Smoking A Joint in the Lap of the Main Statue at The Lincoln Memorial (walk by quote: “I wish Marion Barry could have seen this…”)
Being Launched in “The Spirit of St Louis” across The Air & Space Museum lobby (out the second floor window if possible)
Starting “The Wave” at an SRO performance at Lincoln Center
Flipping The Bird to Jason Garrett during a Redskins-Dallas game
Sliding down the bannister of at least one escalator at a METRO station… fully from top to bottom (with all the bumps)
Stare down a driver in Beltway Traffic
Sit on a bench & then fall backwards to hit his head against the Renoir “Controversial Second Act” at The Smith (where it looks like both girls are looking down at him)
Fall face down at “1789 Restaurant” while a waiter drops the check in front of him
Salute soldiers at “the changing of the guard” at Arlington National Cemetery
Fall down into the pen with the pandas at The National Zoo (bonus points: if it looks like he’s eating their bamboo shoots)
sitting for an Uncomfortably Long time in Ford’s Theatre
Being left for a while at Madame Tussauds
Being asked for an autograph at Shoney’s
Being in a car that has a fender bender on Embassy Row & Staring Down The Officials at the North Korean Embassy

“Oh, you people wouldn’t know a good time if it sat on your face & started to wiggle” -Dan Akroyd, “The Great Outdoors”

And as soon as he’s done running for President, he’ll get it right back, or some other equivalent way of selling a substanceless image of himself as The Important Billionaire. His image is his primary product, and this entire run is for purpose of increasing the value of that product.

It’s still hard to say if the Trump candidacy is for real. We’re all kinda just spitballing here …

The only president I can remember to have a VP from the opposite party was Lincoln, but the powers-that-be in the US were pulling out all the stops to try to prevent a civil war. I don’t think it’s happened since. If it were to happen again, that might be a sign of something just as big on the horizon.

The same could also be said for Trump winning the election, much less the nomination.

Nope, never happen.

And not just because there are no ‘more sane’ Republican candidates.

In 1860, Lincoln’s VP candidate was Hannibal Hamlin, a Republican. In 1864, Lincoln and Johnson were both members of the extremely short-lived National Union Party, a merger of Republicans and War Democrats.

Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. He reinforces Trump’s no-nonsense approach, adds Southern support and is conservative.

I must have missed the “no nonsense” part of Trump’s campaign.

Sessions was my pick back in post #11 because he adds the insider experience and has probably been Trump’s biggest supporter in the Senate.

Some of these answers seem to be in jest or way off. I was expecting better answers. Plus candidates select running mates after clinching the nomination of their party, so this puts to rest the notion that Trump is doing all this for attention. If he stays the course and supposedly gets the nomination, it is foolish to say he is not serious. Not like Trump will suddenly drop out after getting the nomination and instead hand it to another Republican. Makes no sense.

As for the question in hand, Romney and McCain are out. I don’t think any previous presidential candidate has later on become a Vice Presidential for another nominee. I know there is Joe Biden, but he never got the nomination, Romney and McCain did. I don’t see any of them becoming Trump’s VP.

McCain will be 80 by then, and he and Trump don’t like each other so that is out.

My hunch is Trump will select a moderate Republican, a Senator or likely a former/current Governor who will be younger than him. Say in he/her 40’s or 50’s.
This will bring more political experience to the ticket as Trump is not a career politician. This person could from another part of the United States to balance out Trump being a New Yorker. But then again it could be a fellow East Coaster like Trump. Remember Clinton and Gore were both Southern.

I can’t think of any names, but there are plenty of people who would fit this bill. As Trump is not really conservative and is more middle of the road, he will get a moderate VP and not a far right, Tea Party individual.

The Donald will find that being president means listening to others and learning. He will want someone with political chops, low key who does not have presidential aspirations in the future. The VP will still follow in line with Trump all being said and done.

Unlikely that he will choose a fellow Republican from the race. But if he did, it won’t be Cruz. By nature they are not aligned, I can see someone like Marco Rubio as a better match as Donald Trump’s VP.

And no, his daughter won’t be it, she will run his business outside the White House.

As we all know, that is different. George Bush never selected Jeb as his VP, nor will Hillary do so with her husband(putting aside that he is unqualified). Same reason why Trump won’t make his daughter his VP.

This is all silliness.
