Ian Hislop always reminds me of Brain (from Pinky and the Brain), but I don’t know him personally. I do know someone who is the spitting image of Waylon Smithers, though.
I had the oddest roommate once… tall, thin, very short attention span. With my predeliction for world domination, we were known for a time as ‘Pinky and the Brain’
When the cartoon Beavis and Butthead came out, specifically the now infamous Frog Baseball bit, my first thought was “Dude, that looks JUST LIKE me and my friend Doug when we were kids playing frog baseball!!”
Later I discovered that we grew up within spitting distance of Mike Judge. I’m still halfway convinced it really IS me… except I didn’t have braces. HuhuhHUhHuhuHUHuhuh. Mike, if it IS, lemme know… promise I won’t sue! q;}
Not really a cartoon character, but my dad was the spitting image of Gomez Addams, from the old b&w tv show. Didn’t help that he called me ‘Lurch’.
I’ve got a friend who looks like the animation of the lead singer 2D of the Gorrilaz.
He doesn’t have the blue hair, but it’s “styled” the same way, he smokes, and he has the same expressions and mannersims. His face could also be drawn almost exactly that way, he has similar bone strucure. He has the same mischeivious gleam in his eyes, that shines out if his face is shaded. I asked my friends once when the video “Clint Eastwood” was playing if it reminded them of him and they agreed.
One of my other friends is a lot like Murdoc’s animation from that band. My husband still reminds me of Noodle from Gorrilaz, in that everyone else (2D, and Murdoc) will be freaking out over something with him quiet and forgotten in the background, until finally he’ll “step up to the plate” and speak up with a solution, or take action and fix the problem. Similar to the plot of “Clint Eastwood”. He doesn’t look like the character though, he’s tall and slender. Yes, I sometimes sat back and watched the 3 friends interact chuckling to myself. Quite the comic trio at times.
