Who doesn't have any cavities?

My wife and I were talking to somone the other day and the conversation moved to teeth. Mrs. Dragwyr mentioned that she has about 10 cavities and that I have none. The person we were talking with was amazed that I’m 33 with absolutely no cavities.

So I was wondering how rare this was. Who here doesn’t have any cavities, and how old are you?

BTW, I don’t do anything special. I brush every day in the morning and floss every other day.

20 years old and never had a cavity. I brush my teeth at least twice daily and just keep proper dental hygiene.

OK, let’s ask the same question a different way. Why have I got so many cavities that I lost count by the age of 10? I always brushed (and these days floss a bit) - and haven’t had any new cavities for a long time, but I’m older now and my mouth is full of crowns and things.

I suspect it’s genetic.

That said: I stopped drinking milk at age 1. And I had a candy fetish well into my teens.

me! no cavities here at 20 (well almost 20)
all i ate as a kid was candy. all i ate as a teenager was candy. i think i o.d.ed on flouride as a kid. those vitamins tasted like candy.

I think genetics is partly to blame, but I will qualify that by saying my Mom and Dad both have a mouth full of cavities. Also, my teeth are straight with no gaps between them, so nothing can get in between and start rotting.

I also think environment is a factor. Did anyone have florinated water when they were growing up? I did.

(Ironically, I had a lot of dental work done in my youth. I was missing 6 permenant teeth, and had 4 baby teeth on my bottom arch pulled. Had to have braces to correct my bite afterwards, then needed a bridge to fill in the gap.)

34, no cavities. My teeth do ache when I eat ice cream though.

22 and no cavities. And I have dipped a can of Copenhagen a day for the last 5 years or so.

I didn’t have any until I was 20 - and since then, my teeth have decided to make up for lost time.

stupid teeth.

I’m 19 and have never had a cavity in my life. I must have gotten the good teeth genes because the first time I ever went to a dentist was when I was about 13 (my family didn’t have the money or insurance until then) and I am a candy addict.

31 and no cavities. I can chew aluminum foil with the best of them.

30 and nary a one. I took floride tablets for at least a decade as a kid and drank two glasses of milk a day until I went to college.

Male in my thirties, and never a cavity, never a trip to the dentist either.

I did the flouride tablet thing when I was a kid and brush once a day and never floss.

Father never had a cavity, and mom had bad teeth, I got the better of the two sides.

30 years old, no cavities. One or two other dental problems have come up, though…

One crown, from taking an elbow to the face
Wisdom teeth problems
One root canal.

But no cavities. I brush twice a day, but I must admit that flossing is not something I generally do daily–more like a couple of times a week (or after eating something that gets annoyingly stuck in there).

Turning 40 next month, and not a one (that I know of). There have been times I’ve had a sensitive spot, but it went away after a day or so. No wisdom teeth problems, either. I consider myself lucky.

I haven’t been to a dentist in a very long time (since high school), so there may problems I don’t know about (or care to). I’m a big wuss when it comes to doctors and dentists.

Daily brushing, no floss. Heavy duty milk dinker since childhood.

Hehe. Milk “dinker.”

Don’t ask.

28, no cavities here, but I do have a spot on one front tooth from a bout of scarlet fever as a kid. Had 6 permanent teeth pulled at age 11 to make room for braces, had all FIVE wisdom teeth (that last one was a bitch) pulled at 17. Nothing special here as far as maintenance… just your basic brushing and infrequent flossing. Stopped drinking milk way back in junior high… can’t stand the taste.

Dad’s got no teeth, all dentures. Mom’s got a mouth full of metal. Dunno how I got so lucky.

22 here - no cavities. But like Neidhart, my teeth ache when I have cold deserts, and even when I’m chewing on chocolate or caramelly candies. It’s intensely frustrating.

Oh and I brush twice a day, no floss, and have up until rather recently eaten tons and tons of candy.

20, and I’m a cavity virgin.

24, and my mouth is all naturally mine.

I love to chew tinfoil in front of my roommates and watch them squirm.

23, no cavities. Had some in my baby teeth, but those went away. Religious brusher, semi-regular flosser.

Glad to see bobkitty’s post: I’m another of the 5 wisdom teeth genetic freaks.
