well I’m glad I missed it so I could take part in this hand:
I had gotten knocked out of the MTT early when I got crippled with 99 vs A8 (he flopped A), then in BB I raise with Q4suited to the SB limper, flop is Q93, I bet pot size, he calls, turns 9…I get out of hand but crippled…later in BB i have AQ end up all in vs 99 PF, flop a Q, turn 9.
Brutal…but anyway…off I go to the 2/5 NL table. These games are so soft its pathetic. As long as you don’t have a frozen deck you can make 25-30/hour average I would suspect. EVERYONE limps in PF…and once they limp, they call 3-5x the BB reraise. I just stay tight, and even though pot odds dictate playing some trash pf, I never do.
I buy in for 200, get K7 on the button about 30mins later, flop is 67K. As usual, one guy bets out 20 or so with 40 in the pot(from 8 PF limpers). I smooth call, one call behind me. On turn, he bets out 35, I call, other player folds. I check raise river, he bets 25 I raise to 50, and for some unknown reason he actually FOLDS a hand, which shocks me. I’m up 100 or so, and a few hands later get AA. I raise it up to 50 with 4 limpers in. One call. Flop is Q33. I push pot sized bet, he calls. Turn is 7(no flush draws), we end up all in, he turns over Q10. River is Q, giving him the 2 outer for a $600+ pot. After steaming for a few mins, I rebuy in for 200, throw a little fit, and in the last hour run it up to 350, recouping most of my original buy in. I got most of that on one hand when a guy called 10x the BB with 89o in the SB vs my AK, and then called my continuation bet with the board of J94, turn K, river 4.
Yes, this table is full of people who will call with any face card, or any connected cards, 10x the BB…and it’s like this on every cruise.
