Who else is gonna watch Wrestlemania tonight?

While I’m not nearly the hard-core fan I was as a littl’un, I still enjoy the odd wrestling show every now and then, and this one ought to be no different.

I’m going to get very drunk, hang out with a bunch of very drunk people, sing along to entrance music, and yell out trite wrestling cliches all evening.

“Lou Thesz is rolling in his grave!”

“Hey, that guy is running out to his music, and nobody in the ring seems to have noticed!”

I’ll be watching…if i can figure out how to watch this webcast i ordered. I was hoping someone would make a thread for discussion after the show.

I’d be a bit curious to see it but I’m not paying $50 so I’ll just follow it via pwtorch.com.

From the recaps I’ve read so far, that seems like a good thing… the only match that’s sounded okay has been Christian/Jericho with the “twist” ending but, then again, the opening matches weren’t anything I was really interested in in the first place.

…I just finished reading the recap and the show sounds pretty good, although not stellar. I didn’t like that they gave ten men in the CW match only ten minutes to fight and I hate that the tag titles stayed with the people holding them (I wanted Jindrak and Cade and WGTT to win respectively) but Jericho/Christian looked as good as I expected, I really want to see Brock get booed, and definitely want to see Guerrero retain and Benoit finally win a World Title.

I do have a question though : The World (RAW/WCW) belt and the WWE title are both being touted as world championships right now but what do you think will happen when the brands recombine? Will HHH, Michaels, Goldberg, and Benoit all have those WWE title reigns listed as full fledged runs or will they all be signified with asterisks?

I’m personally a little annoyed that Benoit was given the substandard belt and if it weren’t for HHH holding the World title for most of its existance, that this would most assuredly be another phantom reign for him. I’m not so sure that it still won’t be but am holding out hope… what’s everyone else think?

They’ll be listed as full runs, I think. They should be able to get some good mileage out of unifying the belts (again).

I’m not big on Benoit’s chances of a long title run, but it was immensely gratifying to watch him and Eddie embracing in the ring as champions. There are only a few moments in wrestling which warmed the cockles of my heart; that will go done as one more.

The Undertaker came back, but he was basically the Underbiker with his old music and a hat.
