I’ll be taking 2592 people off a cruise ship in the morning and putting Og knows how many on that afternoon.
Merry Xmas.
So maybe you’ll see Santa!!
I’m not working Christmas eve. This is the first year in a long time that I’m not working retail over the holidays. For that I am truly thankful, because it’s exhausting and emotionally draining to have to deal with such a rush of tired, stressed, and grumpy people a couple of days before Christmas.
I will work Christmas eve, but in a clinic, so a lot of people won’t be coming in. Its not bad, if I still worked in a hospital, I would be working on Christmas, too.
I work for the State of California. We have to work Christmas Eve but most likely only half a day.
I requested the day off specifically because Gunslinger’s family, who live two hours away, traditionally have a party and a Yankee swap that evening. If they’d lived in town, I’d have worked, as usual, and simply gone over when I’d finished up.
I usta hadda work on the 24th or 25th in a hospital lab, but now that I’m in research, I get off at noon on the 24th. The best Christmas I had while working in the lab was third shift on the 24th. I stayed up all night on the 23rd to get myself shifted around, and decorated the apartment. When I came home at 6:30am on the 25th, we had Christmas and then I went to bed mid-morning.

Count me in for an 8 to 1 shift at the grocery store on the 24th and then heading over to church to help with the annual pageant until 6 or 7-ish. The 25th, mercifully, is a day off.
Bartender. We’re *scheduled * to be open 'til midnight Christmas Eve, but if the customers protest, we’ll probably stay open 'til 1. Closed Christmas day, thankfully. But, I work New Years Eve and Day. The joys.
i work a bar, and would normally be expected to work xmas & new years, (and a few private parties in between) but this year i’ve the perfect excuse… i’ll be out of town for two weeks, so they can’t even call me in if they wanted to.
Retail monkey here. I work in a book shop, and I’m working Christmas Eve til 7pm. It’s not so bad - we have a couple of bottles of wine after the shop is shut, and because I’m working Christmas Eve I don’t have to work Boxing Day, which is when my family’s having a big family/friends barbecue. It works out pretty good.
I will be at work from 1900 Christmas Eve until 0700 Christmas Day.
I will get home at 0730, sleep for a few hours, then drive to the old’s for a late Christmas lunch.
Boxing Day I will have my son and go back to the old’s for lunch so he can get more presents from Santa…
Oh, BTW, I am a Computer Operator.
Hotel desk clerk pulling a 24 hour shift christmas even and the day after christmas. I’ll have half a day off on Christmas and someone will drive me the three hours and back to see my family.
The money will be nice though.
Also, Christmas Eve is my birthday. It’s gonna be sad being all alone in a hotel on my birthday and not in Sacramento warm and snuggly with my friends and family…
I’ll be working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as usual.
Nurse here. I’ll be working Christmas Eve but I’m off Christmas Day! Woo Hoo!!!
2 jobs Christmas Eve.
1 job Christmas Day.
2 jobs New Year’s Eve.
1 jon New Year’s Day.
Ugh.
I was asked to work Xmas, but since I’m freelance I decided to leave the country instead.
I will work New Year’s Eve and Day though.
Tech support guy, working christmas eve. Er, the day of christmas eve. That is, I’m getting off around 3PM, if all goes well.
But I don’t have to come back until 4 Jan, so it’s OK.
The 24th is a day off for federal employees, and I’m taking the 23rd off to drive to Ocala. The only one of our group of celebrants who has to work is my daughter’s BF, who we will be meeting for the first time after he gets off work on the evening of the 24th.
Sears. Working Christmas Eve 'til we close at six p.m. I’m actually happy that I get to go home at six instead of eleven at night. I’ll probably be working New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, as Sears is open both days. I will be trying to set all the customers who come in on New Year’s day on fire with my mind, but I don’t think it’ll work.
But I’ll try.
